"We need to talk Samantha." I quickly spun around to see who was talking to me. It was Nichole, I was kind of scared to talk to her and/or Kendall today, I would rather this be a random off the street.
I looked down, avoiding eye-contact at all costs, "What do you want to talk about?" I asked even though I already knew the answer- my sexuality.
"Well you said you don't walk up to people and just tell them you're a lesbian, but when you said 'Hi my name is Samantha Geldom and I'm a lesbian!' did you mean it?" She questioned, looking desperate for an answer.
"I told you yesterday I don't just walk up to people and talk about that kind of stuff," I told her trying to walk away, but she caught my arm.
"I walked up to you, so that doesn't count," Nichole countered, with a smirk.
"Nichole, do we really have to talk about this?" I asked wanting to just disappear.
"We don't have to.." she trailed off.
"Cool, see you around," I smiled, starting to walk away.
"But," he voice rang out stopping me in my tracks, " I would really like to," her voice sounding smaller than it did only seconds ago.
I let out a long drawn out sigh,"Okay." I said "Okay, you win, we'll talk about it." She squealed in delight."But only if you calm down, and not tell anyone else." she stopped giggling right away, and straightened up her posture.
"Okay, so can you, tell me now?" she asked with big eyes.
"Well someone's eager," I muttered under my breath.
"Don't I have a reason to be, though?" I guess she heard me.
"Yes, I guess, so ask away."
"So do you.......?" she trailed off again.
"You can say it," I told her.
"Like girls?"
"Yes, I do. I have for a while, and didn't really plan to come out like that. It was quite blunt." I said truthfully.
"Do you like anyone right now?"
"No."
"Not even a little?"
"Nope."
"Really?"
"Is there something you're trying to tell me?" I asked her, obviously not understanding where this might be going.
"Uh..No" She answered a bit to quickly for me to believe her.
"Nichole, are you sure?" I emphasized.
"Well, I guess, but I don't want to embarrass her."
"Who?"
"I told her I wouldn't tell you."
"Well I've never known someone to have crush on me before, I deserve to know," I begged.
"It's not exactly a crush, she just thinks you're hot," Nichole corrected me.
"Who!," I shouted. For crying out loud I just want to know. I don't know ninety percent of people in this school and, if it is someone I know I probably won't act on it. You know, unless it's Kendall.....
"Guess!" she told me.
"Kendall?" I asked with an hopeful expression on my face.
"Nope." I could feel my smile fall, but tried to cover it up quickly enough for her not to notice.
"Oh, Sam. I'm sorry. It might not be her but, my friend Lenna is great." Well, she noticed. "Oh! and she wanted to know if you wanted to get coffee Saturday morning at nine. So, what do you say to that?" she asked, with a large grin on her face.
"No, it's..it's fine. So, who's Lenna" I asked trying to sound even the least bit interested.
"It's okay if you don't want to meet her. You don't have to. I could tell her that you aren't looking for a relationship," she said, doing what I can only assume would trying to take some pressure off of me, or comfort me.
" I want to, really I do. Where does she want to meet me?"
"If you don't want to, than please don't pretend that you do. Lenna's my friend and I really don't want to see her hurt."
"You won't, I promise, now where does she want to meet me?"
There was a long pause and, I was kind of nervous, even though all I was waiting on was location. " Do you know that little cafe on the corner of Main Street?" I nodded, " Right there."
"Awesome, I can't wait. Tell her I'll meet her there." I told Nichole before running to class, trying my hardest not to be late.
I didn't have time to go to my locker before class, so I was kind of glad when we took a pop quiz. I feel good about the quiz so, when I left Geometry and everyone else looked like they wanted to die, I was smiling brightly. I just couldn't help it, Maybe because I had a date, or that that my sister and I were finally action like a family should, but it felt like nothing could mess up my day. I know I should be a bit more upset that Jenna and I had that big argument, and had yet make up, but still I couldn't be. Absolutely nothing could bring me down, nothing at all.
"Hey, Liana."
Nope. Wrong again.
