Chapter 21
The worst thing that happened today was definitely NOT being caught by the Phoenix red-handed. Instead, it was being attacked singlehandedly by the daughter of Poseidon who was possibly even more powerful than all the demigods combined. It hurt a lot and it was rather obvious that she held back even though she was extremely pissed. She definitely knew the extend of her power. She could've easily killed them but she didn't. Being a descendent of Hecate and the daughter of Poseidon, Destiny might be as powerful as a goddess. Plus, she was blessed by another five goddesses. That wasn't something that was in the favour of her enemies.
The demigods did not know what to feel. To feel embarrassed that they got caught red-handed or to be grateful that Destiny's anger did not get the best of her. They did not want to admit, but snooping around was definitely not their best idea. Especially when the Phoenix had specifically told them not to. On the bright side, they were shown where the training room was. Though some of them were rather disappointed that they did not get to find out what was in the basement.
"Guys, I think we should at least apologise." Jason started. Before he could even continue, Clarisse cut in, "What?! That girl attacked us. Isn't that enough punishment?"
Piper placed a hand on the girls shoulder, "We did invade her privacy. I know how she feels."
"Do you mean like literally?" Thalia glanced at Piper, worried.
Piper nodded, "Yes. I've never experienced this before but ever since my mum visited me in that dream, I could feel every single one of your feelings. But relax, I don't read minds."
"So that means you can basically feel how Destiny is feeling?"
"Yes. I can also-" Piper stopped herself.
"You can also what?" Hazel pressed.
The daughter of Aphrodite shook her head, "It is not my place to tell." With that, she left the room.
"What was that?"

Walking down the halls of the mansion, Piper tried to clear her mind. Every time she managed to blank her mind, another feeling pushes in and her mind is filled with more thoughts than before. Having the sudden ability to literally feel how others feel was weird. Its like having random feelings that you shouldnt understand but somehow you do. The line 'try putting yourself into anothers shoes' has never been so real to Piper before. She knew exactly how people were feeling and even though she cant read minds, she could make the one guess what it was about.
Suddenly, a sharp pain shot through her brain. Piper gripped the wall by her side and slowly slid onto the ground, waiting for the pain to subside. She propped her arms onto her knees to support her head. As the pain subsided, Piper looked up only to see Destiny down the hall, in a similar position as she was. Piper shot to her feet. Destiny looked up when she heard footsteps.
"Daughter of Aphrodite, how may I help you?"
Piper didn't answer. Instead, she frowned. There was so much hurt and confusion in the girl. The one thing that Piper did not expect the girl to feel was fear. The girl was in so much fear that Piper couldn't even comprehend exactly how much.
"Piper? Piper McLean?" Destiny called as she pushed herself up.
"Huh?" Piper snapped out of her daze.
What is she thinking? Destiny furrowed her eyebrows.
"Erm Destiny," Piper started, "Why are you scared?"
