Am I allowed to feel disappointed,
Am I allowed to feel the pain,
Of the open heart, you left behind,
A part of my childhood being taken away.
Am I allowed to say I'm angry,
Of the things you never did,
But sorry, darlin', I can't say the words,
Because on the inside I'm shattering.
And I'm out of words,
Because you left me behind,
When all I ever did and more,
Was standing by your side.
Am I allowed to say I'm frightened,
Of the person you've become,
Because I remember the aunt you were to me,
And suddenly she was gone.
