I wish it was as easy to find,
As it was to fall,
The scars are easily seen,
But the pain will never show,
The water kept on pulling,
Though my clothes were never wet,
The tears kept on rolling,
Still the smile covered all the tears I let, go.
I wish it was as easy to smile,
As it was to cry the pain away,
The monsters always comforted me,
Telling me about their way,
And as hard as I tried,
The fall was quick and soundless,
While my heart was screaming out for help,
I never felt my mouth open,
But man; I wish it counted.
I wish you heard my squeal,
My tears,
Even my lies,
I wish you sometimes would ask me;
"Darling, what's on your mind?"
I wish I made it as easy for you to see,
As it was for me to go,
Maybe I should have let those damn feelings show,
Maybe then you would have known.
