No One Told Me There Would Be Cake!!

"Did you hear that? Fairy Tail!"

"What? Where?"

"That little weak guild always claiming last place!"

Giggles. Whispers. I sighed and gave Lucifer a look he understood immediately, schooling his features and putting the kitten down.

I had arrived a few hours before everyone else, after telling Erza I wanted to go sightseeing. The city really was beautiful, it reminded me a little of Konoha. Of course, I may have been biased, but I definitely preferred my home.

I straightened from where I was, crouched in an alleyway playing with the kitten Lucifer refused to let me hold.

'It's got white fur, doofus. Your dress is black, you can't hold it.'

Ugh. Killjoy.

"Are we going or not, you salty creature." Lucifer snapped me out of my thoughts and I rolled my eyes.

"I have a right to be salty," I began, brushing anything that might have specked my dress as I gathered it and walked towards the streets again. I felt something being put on my head and laughed lightly. My crown; the one I wore when traveling in Lukedonia, not the one I was crowned with. It was much simpler, but clearly one of Royalty.

"You actual showoff-y goof." I mumbled as he took my hand and led me towards a shadow that took us to the crowded street, where we wouldn't be noticed to have suddenly appeared. We made our way towards the fuming guild members. He simply hummed in agreement, making me smile. It was replaced by an icy expression as we neared the crowd of laughing villagers, all making insulting remarks towards the guild. My guild.

The whispered faded to a hush as we passed the villagers, looking straight ahead and not even acknowledging their presences. The guild members stared as we approached as well, before some broke out into smirks, realizing what we were doing. Others, like...Natsu and Gray... just stared, in open mouthed confusion.

Once Lucifer and I had reached the others, I gave them a small smile, and the whispers started up again. Holding a hand out to Lucifer, he took the (materialized) scrunchy off of it and tied my hair into a ponytail while Erza and I made small talk.

"You're an idiot." she said quietly, and I smirked.

"It wasn't really my idea to blow all this out of proportion. Someone wanted to make sure everyone shut themselves up forever." I said, hinting to Lucifer, who just 'hm'ed quietly, a satisfied noise that both Erza and I laughed at. Stepping back, Lucifr flicked a lock of hair to fall behind my shoulder, the other side staying in front. I almost hit him. With his new hair placement, it clearly showed off my guild mark, and the mumbles again came to a halt.

I looked to the nearest stand and gave a small smile, looking to Lucifer, who looked there as well before holding out a hand, an invitation to go first. The rest of the guild continued whatever they were doing, planning things and hyping each other up. Especially Makarov, that money grubber. I seriously loved him so much.

Once I reached the stand, I looked around and reached out for the first thing within reach. A necklace. It was pretty simple, a black wooden cross hanging from a white line, and I quite liked it, actually.

Could be nicer if the colours were switched, though. I smiled at the vendor, watching the flush spread across his face. Everyone goes a little red when in the presence of someone of authority; these villagers were no different.

"I do like the colour," I said, my voice softer than it had been since I had to play cute to get Lucifer to let me hang with Naruto instead of work.

It didn't work, in case you were curious. He just glared at me even more and gave me extra shit to do.

"W-w-well, it wasn't supposed t-to be this colour, originally but the su-supplier made a mistake and made the cross and the line switch colours, and-" I stopped him with another small smile. I raised the necklace into his line of sight, then covered it with one hand. Uncovering it, I let it hang from a finger and he gasped.

The colours were switched; the cross was silver, the line it was on was now black and looked much nicer.

"It's silver," I said, looking up at him. "I do hope you won't mind, but the wooden texture isn't the nicest against the skin." I said, and he shook his head vigorously, waving his hands around.

"N-n-n-n-no, it's fine, in fact it looks a lot nicer now, thank you for the tip." he said, and I smiled. Noticing he had an entire box of them, I 'hmm'ed quietly.

"Master, the guild is waiting." Lucifer said, and I nodded.

"Take care of this, will you?" I asked, waving an airy hand towards the vendor. He nodded.

"As you wish." he said, gesturing for me to go back to the guild.

"Shit, I wasn't paying attention, what do I fix?" he asked through our mental connection as I gathered my dress again and smiled as my form of goodbye to the vendor. He quickly stuttered out a 'goodbye' as I turned and left.

"For fuck sake, dude. Make the line black and the cross silver. The hell do I keep you around for?"

Lucifer ran a hand over the box and they were all shimmering silver crosses with black lines.

"Good day to you." he said politely, and the vendor nodded again, scrambling to formulate another goodbye.

I stopped as I reached the guild and half turned to see the villagers still staring.

"Fairy Tail is my guild. We wouldn't want to cause any trouble, would we?" I asked, smirking.

A chorus of stammered 'no's came back to me and I nodded, satisfied.

"Good dogs." I mumbled, quiet enough for the rest of the guild to hear, and then we were off, making our way to the...wherever we were going.

Once far enough from the part of the city, I frowned.

"How dare those motherfuckers insult my  coven." I seethed, feeling the dark energy coming off me in waves. The others looked to each other and laughed and I grabbed my crown off my head and handed it to Lucifer, who threw it over his shoulder casually. It melded in with some shadow and disappeared. I reached up and with a 'schwick' my ponytail was undone, my hair falling like it usually did, and I cracked my neck.

"Christ, being uptight sucks." I said, and Natsu snickered.

"It was worth the looks on their faces though." Happy said, evil grin in place, making me grab him and hug him, nuzzling my face into his stomach. He giggled like mad and I laughed.

"Happy, you're the only one who truly understands me." I said, and we cried a river together, sobbing about mindless things, until Happy...dear, sweet, darling, Happy... he said the thing.

"At least we have cake in our rooms!" he said, and my eyes widened. I plucked him off me and held him at arm's length, looking him in the eye.

"What."

"What?" he asked, eyes round and confused.

"No one told me there'd be cake!" I exclaimed, feeling an involuntary grin spread across my face.

"We're here!" Makarov said suddenly, and we both perked up. My eyes widened.

"Cooooool, it's like a Roman arena."

"A Colosseum?" Lucifer asked, and I nodded.

"Yeah, that. I know words, clearly."

...

"It's not a Colosseum at all, though-"

"SHUT UP, LUCIFER!"
