Bacchus...? Like The Drunkard God?

'GET OVER HERE, YOUR BATTLE'S STARTING!' I blinked my eyes open, uncrossing my legs and standing in the middle of the darkness around me.

"Wh-what? Dude, wait, what? Like...now?" I asked, and Erza made a choking sound on the other side of the phone.

'No, I'm calling because it starts three days from now and I just wanted to-Yes it starts now, you-'

"Why're you yelling?" I asked, patting her on the shoulder. She rounded on me with a death glare that made me look away, pointing at the wall.

"That..uh, that's a real nice wall, huh?"

"Natsu can't fight yet 'cause of some travelling incident that affects dragonslayers. They're making an exception, so get. Out. There." she growled at me. I puffed my cheeks out and nodded, saluting her as I stretched.

My dress, a little worn from training in it, changed to a white one when I passed a pillar, the shadows helping the transition not seem like a really bad cut scene.

Once I stepped into the line of sight of the audience, the crowd went quiet as Lucifer appeared and held my hand all the way down to the arena, bowing with a smirk as he stood behind me. I raised a hand casually, dismissing him, and he left.

"Who're you?" I asked nicely, earning a... a very disconcerting look up and down my frame in return.

"Bacchus. You're really pretty, little miss. Care to join me for a night?" he asked, and I smiled politely at him.

"I'm afraid I must decline." I replied, hands folded in front of me. He 'tsk'ed.

"I'd like to think you're not a stuck up Royal, so how about rethinking that?" he asked, grinning dangerously at me. I smiled at him again, just as polite as the first time.

"I'm terribly sorry, but I can't accept your request." I answered again. He sighed and scratched the back of his head.

"Well, don't say I didn't give ya a chance, little lady." he said, suddenly in front of me. I just blinked as he tried to swipe at me, but his shadow wouldn't let him.

"What the-"

The crowd went crazy, gossiping already, of course, and I sighed, before looking back at my opponent.

"Kay dude, here's the deal," I said, dropping the front, and he blinked owlishly at me.

"You faking bitch." he said, not rudely, just in awe. I chuckled, shaking my head.

"Nah, it's just a thing I gotta do because formalities and I'm in public and all. It's not fake at all, I could be like that all my life and have just as much fun killing you. But that's not exactly me, soooo," I rambled on, taking a breath before continuing. "You want a fair fight, or a mage fight?" I asked. He glared at me.

"Don't you go giving me any handicaps." he said, seemingly really  angry I'd propose such a thing. I shrugged.

"Welp, your funeral. Not really, though, Erza's gonna be mad." I said, mumbling the last part as his shadow was thrown across the arena, followed by his body. He crashed into the wall and slid down, without even a scratch.

I raised a hand and looked around at the audience.

"I'd just like everyone to remember that he literally demanded me not to give him any handicaps, okay? So like, if he dies on accident it's kinda his fault." I forgot my facade. Oops. Don't care anymore. It was fun while it lasted. Although not really, at all.

As he prepared himself again for battle, I raised a hand, palm facing the floor with my fingers relaxed, and hummed in thought.

"There are so many possibilities...which to choose?" I mumbled, before I just gave up and brought my hand downwards in a diagonal slash. He froze for a second before coughing up blood and collapsing.

"Kay, we're done here. I have more training to do, I was this close to doing the thing." I said, and Lucifer came down to get me again, this time thwacking the back of my head with a 'you killed my fun' expression. I shrugged.

"Sorry, I wasn't thinking about it." I defended, rubbing the sore spot. He sighed, allowing me to go up the stairs first before following me up them and through a short walkway where we vanished without being seen.

"Geez," I mumbled, releasing a long sigh in frustration. "I was so close," I anime cried. Lucifer 'hmm'ed disinterestedly on a rock, turning the page of this new novel he was reading. Some kind of Victorian series about a priest who solves mysteries.

"Welp," I cracked my knuckles, "Nothing better than practice."
