"Huh, what, what? What?" I jolted awake as Natsu threw a small fireball at me. My shadow moved to extinguish it, but jumped too far, and pulled me off my bed. "The fuck, I just wanted some sl-""No time, Kuroi, this place is going through some kind of magic and it's being warped. Come on, the preliminaries have started!" Lucy said, pulling me by the hand out of bed. I sat up and yawned, stretching as she tugged on my night dress. I blinked and stood, thanking Lucy. Noticing I was standing, she nodded and gestured to the window where everyone else was, peering out, before going over to see for herself. I yawned again, and, as everyone had jumped out the window, (where was Wendy?) I moved over to it and sat on the edge before stepping out onto some kind of path in mid air. I could see everything from here, and everything could see me.
Looking around blearily, I realized I was still in my night dress, and -again- everyone could see me. Ignoring the embarrassed screech I was almost going to let out, I just raised a hand, becoming engulfed in shadows. They faded away to leave me in a dress shorter than the other ones, so I could walk about easier.
"Kuroi!" Erza shouted, from wayyy in front of me. Whoa, her voice was loud. I took a few steps forward, my shadow growing longer and longer to touch the shadow of a fence; one of the only stable things out here. It let me stand in the air easily; if my shadow was standing on something then surely I was too, right? When Erza called foe me again, I materialized a megaphone.
"Yeah?" I replied, and she just looked at me, standing on nothing in the air, for a few seconds before facepalming.
"Go by yourself!" she said, and I blinked.
"What the hell?" I asked, and she seemed annoyed, cupping her hands around her mouth.
"I said-"
"I know what you said, but why?" I asked, materializing next to her, scaring the life out of Natsu, Lucy and Gray.
"You're not exactly a traditional mage. It would be cheating for you to come along and help us." she said, and I pouted, but if this was their decision... I nodded, giving them a smile.
"Fine, but you better get there quick, else I'll be mad." I said. The four gave me identical smirks and nodded. I grinned at them before leaning backwards, off the trail and plummeting towards the ground.
"See you later, guys!" I said, disappearing before I touched ground.
Moving through the shadows; becoming the shadow itself, I made my way around for about ten minutes, before I got bored. Frowning, I popped out of the shadows. My own shadow leaned against something, way below me, and I followed, leaning against nothing, but staying upright.
"Dude, where do I go?" I asked, out loud. Lucifer sighed from within my mind and my head snapped to turn in a particular direction I somehow knew he was pointing at.
"That way, hm?"
"It's a straight line to the goal." he replied, yawning in the middle of it. I nodded and began towards the goal, screaming lyrics on the way. Lucifer blocked me out so he could sleep, so I raised my volume now that there wasn't anyone to annoy.
"TAKING BACK THE CROOOWWWWWWWWWWNNNNN. ALL DRESSED UP AND NAKED, I SEE WHAT'S MINE I TAKE IT. THE CROOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWNNNNN SO CLOSE I CAN TASTE IT, SEE WHAT'S MINE I TAKE ITTTT."
And then I caterwauled.
"Sorry, Brendon." I said quietly, before continuing. I didn't even pause in my step as I realized I was being followed.
"Sycophants on velvet sofas," my voice went lower, but loud enough for the followers to hear it.
"Lavish mansions, vintage wine." I chuckled softly as they came closer. I slowed my pace for them ,but when they got behind me I turned around and held out a hand to stop them. They seemed shocked; scared, even.
They had good reason to be.
"I am so much more than royal" They weren't quite dead yet, but on their ways there. I put my finger to my kips and shushed their screams. They quietened down, surprisingly. I giggled.
"Snatch your chain and mace your eyes." oh look, this guy actually happens to have a chain. Poor thing.
"If it feels good, tastes good; It must be mine." I hummed in disappointment. They were dead.
"Heroes always get remembered, but you know legends never die." I walked off, swinging someone's black umbrella.

"Someone hurt Wendy?" I asked sharply, eyes snapping up to Natsu, pausing in putting my boots on. Lucy nodded, a somber expression on her face. I frowned at them, lacing my boots and standing, gesturing to the way out.
"Why are you all so upset?" I asked, and continued before they could say anything. "All we have to do is kill them." I finished. There was a silent moment before Natsu spoke, sounding determined.
"Who was it, though?" he asked, and I shrugged.
"Dunno."
"Wh- then who were you planning on killing?!" he asked. I kicked up a stone, catching it in my hand. I closed my fist, only to open it again to show a skull carved from it.I threw it to the side and it crumbled to dust with the force.
"All of them."
