God Damn It

I didn't pay much -or any- attention to the other teams that came into the arena after us. Only when I felt the  purposeful provocation did I look up to see a guild that had mine on edge. A...dark guild, hm? They had a tiny Wendy figure, it was standing all happy, and then it fell over, seemingly hurt. I narrowed my eyes at them. the team was silent, but I let slip a loud growl, feral and deep. Five hands were holding onto my shoulders, everyone unconsciously stopping me from doing something stupid. The dark guild members were staring in mild shock and certain curiosity. These were the people who hurt my guild. I glared at them , directing my anger towards them all, before I broke out into tiny giggles.

"I'm going to kill you all." I said, giggling through it. Lucy's hand on my shoulder squeezed and gently pulled me back towards her. I followed it easily, calming my giggles, but my smile was stuck on my face.

"Ooooh! I wanna do the first thing! I can do it! Pick me, pick me!" I raised a hand and jumped up and down excitedly. They all ignored me.

Eventually, they decided Gray would go. I pouted, sitting in a corner and sulking as he and the other contestants all gathered together. Suddenly, they were in a town. In the middle of the arena, a huge town was just sitting there, like it had business being there.

It was pretty cool, though, if not for the fact that I wasn't the one playi- fighting for my guild.

I purposefully ignored what was happening, only paying attention in case Gray got hurt. I didn't care. Not...at all. Nope.

"NATSU MOVE YOUR DAMN HEAD I CAN'T SEE THE SCREEN!"

Oops.

Gray was losing to the dude from the other guild. My mouth was set in a snarl, canines growing longer by the second, until someone in the crowd pointed it out. Everyone turned to me, but I schooled my features immediately and looked up with wide eyes.

"Uh...what?" I asked, and they slowly turned back to watch the match.

Gotta keep undetected, Kuroi, gotta-

"You're disappearing, you idiot, get back here." Erza said quietly, stomping on my foot. I blinked, coming back to reality (oh there goes gravity) only to find that I was slowly blending in with the shadow in the corner I was leaning against. I facepalmed.

Not that much undetected!

The games continued, and this dude from Sabertooth guild or something was all badass and went 'whoosh' and leveled the playing field in a single attack, and no one knows how mad this made me.

"Erza. Let. Me. Do. Something." I growled when Gray came back, looking heartbroken and distraught. She shook her head, but looked like she just wanted to sic me on the entire stadium.

"You know we can't, Kuroi. This is for us." she said softly. I snarled, going over to Gray and putting a hand on his shoulder.

"We'll kill them." I promised. He was absolutely livid, barely nodding in acceptance of my words.  Patting his shoulder gently, worried for him, I released him and let him have his time alone.

Next was Lucy's one on one battle against Flare, a Raven Tail guild member.

"Careful, Lucy. I don't trust her. She seems... off." I said, and she nodded, determined.

"Got it. I'll win this, guys." she said, reassuring us. With hopeful hearts, we watched.

At first, they were at a stalemate, Lucy's celestial magic equally balanced with Flare's crazy hair mechanism, but then, when Lucy was on the ground, she panicked.

"Asuka-chan!" Lucy gasped. My eyes widened as I looked to where her head was turned. Hair.

"Don't move. Don't make a sound, or something bad might happen." Flare whispered to her.

No. Way. I melted in with someone's shadow and reappeared next to the little girl -Asuka-chan, apparently.

"Lucy," I called, using chakra to make my voice loud enough. Everyone turned in my direction, and I held the lock of hair up for her to see.

"I got this." I said, and she made a choking laugh before nodding and beginning her counterattack.

Summoning another spirit, it transformed into her... in a bath... towel.

(A mistake made while she was getting into the bath last night, apparently)

My eyes widened as the two held hands and chanted their spell.

"Whoa..." I mumbled under my breath. When did these guys get so strong? I couldn't help but smile at the powerful magic Lucy wielded, but then it dropped into a scowl.

Someone in the arena just cancelled it.

Lucy fell, staring up at the open skies blankly. Just as she was about to cry, her tears pooling in her eyes, Natsu held a hand out to help her up.

"Leave the tears for when we win." he said, and she laughed through the crying, nodding and taking his hand. Up on her feet, Lucy dried her eyes.

Meanwhile, I was... well, not happy.

Back with Erza, I barely held myself from rage quitting and just trashing the place.

"Erza." I pleaded, but she shook her head, looking like she was convincing herself more than me.

"We can't. This is for us. Can't....cheat." she said through bared teeth.

Part of me was mildly pleased she thought of me as a cheat to something so important, but the other part just wanted to disregard everything and tear the place down brick by brick.

I left the arena, leaving a shadow clone in my place.

"Lucifer! C'mere, We're gonna give this whole shapeshifting thing a try."

I have shit to do.
