Chapter 23: On Their Own

Hey guys, I'm so sorry that is such a late update I was really busy with school. But luckily things are going back to normal, so I had time to get this chapter done. By the way so excited for Lea's album that was dropped. I love all the songs, she is just amazing. Okay, Here is chapter 23.

Tonight was Stella's big night, it was opening Night for Annie.

It was the afternoon, the Hudson family were all in the kitchen enjoying a nice lunch. The twins were in their high chairs feeding themselves as best as two ten month olds could. Stella was sitting next to them keeping a eye on them.
"Are you excited for tonight, Stella?" Rachel asked cleaning up the twins.
"Yeah," Stella said with a smile,"But I'm nervous. What I mess up?"
"If you do, just keep going," Finn said,"But don't worry your going to be fine."
"How do you know?" Stella asked.
"Because you have work really hard on this show. I know you know all your lines and songs, you're going to be great," Rachel said hugging her daughter.
"Did you ever get nervous before your shows, Mom?" Stella asked looking up at Rachel.
"Yep, every time," Rachel said,"But once I was on the stage, and everything began, my nervousness disappeared."
"You guys really think I'm going do well?"
"Yes, we do."

It was now three pm, and there were two hours before the show was going to begin. Finn had dropped Stella off at school because all the kids in the had to be there before the show to run things again.

When he had got back home, he found Rachel,the twins, but also the NY gang plus all the grandparents.
"What are you guys doing here?" Finn asked walk into the house.
"We thought we would throw Stella a little after party," Kurt said.
"She is going to love this," He said smiling.
"We know," Santana said with a smirk.
"What about you guys; Mom, Burt, Leroy, and Hiram, I didn't know you guys were coming," Finn said.
"We didn't want to miss our granddaughter's big opening night," Carole said walking up to Finn.
"She is going to be so happy to see you guys," Finn said.
"Okay guys, let's finish a little more then we are going to have to hide to the school," Rachel said picking Maria up.
"Okay," Finn said smiling at his wife, friends and family.

The group finished up as much as they could do then headed off the the school.

Once at the school, the gang found seats and got settled.
"This is so exciting," Rachel said grabbing Finn's hand.
"I know, our little girl is growing," Finn looking through and smiling seeing at Stella's photo on the first page.

Meanwhile backstage, the kids were getting ready to begin the show.
"Stell, are you excited?" Gloria asked.
"I am," Stella said to her friend,"I don't feel nervous at all anymore. I just feel ready."
"Good, because the shows about to begin," Gloria said.
"Places!" Ms Solomon yelled.

The kids ran around to the their places.
"Good luck. Break a leg!" Gloria said running to her place.

"Thanks," Stella said taking her place.

Once everyone was ready, the curtain opened and the show began.

The show was going well. Stella was doing a fantastic job. It was finally time for the big girl number.

Once the girls finished everyone got to their feet and applauded. After that the show continued until the end. When it was time for curtain call, and Stella walked on the stage everyone got to their feet and applauded. Stella couldn't believe it, her first standing ovation.

Once the show was wrapped up and Stella was changed, she went to meet with her family.
"Sweetie, you did amazing!" Finn said hugging his daughter,"These are for you." He said giving her flowers.
"Their very pretty, Daddy," Stella said holding flowers and smiling.
"We are so proud of you, Stella," Rachel said giving her a kiss.
"Did anyone else come to see me?" Stella asked.
"Yeah, but they had to head home," Finn said.

The rest of the gang had headed back to Finn and Rachel's house to get the last finishing touches down.
"Oh, okay," Stella said.
"Why don't we head home, Miss Superstar?" Rachel said.
"Okay, Let's go."

The family soon arrived home.
"Stella, can you up the door? Me and your dad have no hands free," Rachel said looking at Stella.
"Okay," Stella said then opened the door.

Once she opened the door, everyone jumped up and shouted 'Surprise!' Stella was in shock,"This is for me?" she asked looking around.
"Yes, it is superstar," Rachel said smiling.

Stella smiled,"I love you guys!"
"We love you, Stella," Finn said with a smile.
"Let's get this party stated," Kurt said.

The friends and family celebrated Stella's big night together.

Soon it got late and everyone headed home. It was time for Stella to get to he had some rest, so she went to her room to change into her pjs then waited for her mom. Rachel came in soon to tuck Stella in.
"Did you have good day, Stell?" Rachel asked.
"Yeah," Stella said,"It was great day! The show went good, everyone came to see me, and I got a party. Today has been one of the best days of my life."
"I'm happy that enjoyed yourself, now it is time to get some rest for your show tomorrow," Rachel said.
"I'm so excited for tomorrow," Stella said.
"Okay, good night my superstar," Rachel said giving Stella a kiss on the forehead,"I love you."
"I love you, too."
