"Veronica and I call the big bedroom!" I yelled, pushing a box of my stuff into one of the bedrooms of the apartment.
"Uh, the big bedroom is mine, kiddo," Scott said to me and I turned around.
"Under what rules?" I pushed, putting my hands on my hips.
"Under the 'I was born first" rule," he laughed and began to step into the room.
"Wait a minute," Veronica said, stopping him at the door. "Rachel and I combined are way older than you are."
"LOOPHOLE!" I shouted, and Veronica shut the door on him. "What an idiot."
"He knew that's what we were going to pull," Veronica laughed, pushing at her bed frame with no avail. "Come help me push this over there."
"I'm not exactly the muscle you're looking for, but okay," I said, standing next to Veronica and pushing.
The two of us spent hours organizing our room. Since we had more freedom when it came to decoration, we really went all out. Our halves of the room were very clear, as Veronica's bed was in one corner and mine was in the corner opposite, against the wall that faces outside. At the foot of my bed was a window; one of the old ones that doesn't have any screen to keep the bugs out.
The best thing about the entire apartment was the balcony outside the living room. I mean, it wasn't really a balcony more or less a section of roof access you could get to through one of the living room windows, but it was really nice to go out there at night and read or study.
The apartment was half filled with furniture and half filled with boxes. I had a feeling the boxes weren't going to be going away anytime soon, but it didn't matter. Classes started in two days and I had bigger things to worry about.
