I woke up the next morning curled up against J.D, both of us in only underwear and wrapped in my blankets. My eyelashes fluttered against his chest, and he groaned slightly in his sleep, pulling me closer to him. I kissed his chest softly, my nose pressed against it, and allowed my eyes to slowly close once more.
The sun shown through the window, telling me it was at least ten o'clock, and my heart leaped.
"Shit," I mumbled, getting up quickly and throwing clothes on.
J.D rolled over and his eyes opened slowly. "Come back," he mumbled sleepily as I pulled on a clean pair of jeans.
"I have a class, J," I said softly, pulling on a shirt. "I was distracted last night, I forgot to set my alarm."
"I wouldn't necessarily use the word distracted," J.D replied with a smirk, and I threw his tank top at him.
"Shut it," I chuckled. "Now get dressed. I don't need Scott finding you in here practically naked while I'm in class."
"Just come cuddle me for a minute," J.D pouted, and I laughed.
I made my way to the edge of the bed, and J.D pulled me so I fell on top of him.
"Man down!" he yelled as I tried to squirm out of his grip.
"This is not what I expected when you asked for a cuddle!" I squealed, J.D wrapping his arms around me so tightly that I couldn't move.
"Should've remembered who you're dealing with," he smirked, pecking me on the cheek.
"Same goes for you," I shot back at him.
He looked confused for a moment, but as soon as my hand went under his arm, he tensed up.
"Don't you dare," he warned, but there was no stopping me.
I tickled under J.D's arms, causing him to squirm and let go of me. As soon as I was free, I sprinted out of my bedroom and into the main living area of the apartment.
"Get back here!" J.D yelled through laughter, running after me.
I ran past Scott, who looked awfully confused, and J.D, in only his boxers, ran straight into him.
"Twenty years of Rachel's boyfriends and I've never quite met one like this before," Scott said as I laughed my ass off behind him.
"Uh," J.D started, and then he cleared his throat.
"Scott," I interrupted. "This is J.D. J, this is my brother, Scott."
"Uh, nice to meet ya," J.D nodded. "I was just, um-"
"Sleeping with my baby sister," Scott said, and J.D chuckled nervously.
"Well," he admitted, and I walked over to him.
"Go put on your damn clothes," I told him, patting his chest.
He nodded at me and went back to Veronica and I's shared room.
"Classy," Scott said and I laughed.
"Shut up," I chuckled. "I didn't know you were home either. You know where Veronica is?"
"She called my phone because you weren't answering," Scott explained. "She said she was spending the night with Alex."
I nodded and J.D came back out of the room. "You remember where you put my coat?" he asked.
"I hung it on the bathroom door," I told him, and he went off the get it.
"So that's J.D?" Scott asked, and I nodded.
"That's the sucker," I chuckled.
"I heard that," J.D called from the bathroom, and I laughed harder.
"Tough!" I called back.
"Speaking of sucker," Scott muttered, his eyes glancing at my neck.
"I'll cover it," I groaned. "Don't you have somewhere to be?"
"Yes," he told me. "I was just leaving. I'll be back for dinner, yeah?"
I nodded as Scott headed towards the door. As he left, J.D stood behind me.
"Speaking of sucker," he mumbled, and I turned around and slapped his chest.
"Jason!" I yelled and he laughed.
"What?" J.D chuckled. "I didn't say it was a bad thing."
I shook my head and began slipping on my shoes. "You wanna hang out tonight?" I asked, and J.D shook his head.
"Veronica's helping me with Stats," he said, and I nodded, remembering that she had asked me to join the day before. "I've been told you aren't the best at math yourself."
I stuck my tongue out at J.D, who shook his head smiling, and grabbed my bag. The two of us left the apartment and walked over to campus. As I reached the building my class was in, I turned and pecked him on the cheek.
"I'll see you later," I told him, and he nodded.
I leaned up to kiss him quickly, but he pulled me into something longer and deeper.
"See you later," he replied quietly after pulling away.
He stood at the foot of the building and watched me leave. Something about the tone of his response made me anxious, but I brushed it off. Everything was perfect again.
