Meryl and Don quickly settled into a happy and stress free routine. They spent time setting up their new apartment just the way they wanted it; including Don's studio. They went to the park with Henry almost daily. Enjoyed the late Spring in New York. All in all they just enjoyed their family of 3 before it was to grow to a family of 4 in the fall. Don had just been fully released from his doctor and started working in the studio some but said he would rather spend time with Meryl and Henry. When Meryl suggested that maybe they were a distraction to him and said maybe they could find him a place in the building that would work for his studio he balked at the idea. He said he already had a studio in the building, it was in their apartment. He loved being close to Henry and Meryl and soon their baby. He said if he really needed to he could sequester himself in his studio up in the loft; but he wasn't to that point yet. He was just working on the sculptures that Mann destroyed and some paintings. He would often drop hints to Meryl about how he wanted to draw her again but didn't push especially after everything she had gone through. He knew when she was ready, and comfortable, then he would indeed get to draw his wife again.
Meryl was in nesting mode. Constantly fixing them amazing meals and getting their apartment just the way they wanted. When it came to decorating it was incredibly helpful to have the input of her amazing, talented, artistic husband. The new apartment was home. They had already made some amazing memories with Henry, and also just the two of them, that they felt once again as if all their dreams came true. They couldn't imagine anything ruining their amazing life. Little did they know that their worst nightmare was about to return with a vengeance.

"Hi, baby." Meryl moaned when she felt his fingers move her hair to the side and he placed tender kisses on her neck. "You're gonna make me burn the eggs."
Don smirked against her skin. "We have more."
"You think you'll ever get tired of this?" Meryl asked as she tried to stay focused on the task at hand-not burning breakfast.
Don shook his head as he kissed the spot behind her ear that really got her going. "Tired of what? Eggs?"
"No." Meryl giggled as she took the scrambled eggs off the heat now that they were cooked and turned around in his arms to kiss his lips. "Kissing me like that when I'm cooking? Kissing me like that in general."
Don shook his head as he then kissed the front of long and slender neck. "HELL NO! You think you'll ever get tired of me kissing you like this?"
"Not in a million years, handsome." Meryl whispered as she pulled his head up to hers but she was interrupted when she felt something, well someone rather, pulling on her robe. She smiled as she and Don pulled away and looked down between them. "Well, look whose up."
Henry gave her his Gummer smile. "Mommy! Daddy! Me hungwy."
"What a shocker." Don laughed as he picked Henry up and blew raspberries on his tummy. "You're hungwy?"
Henry nodded as he laughed at his father. "I big boy. I eat."
"You most certainly do." Don laughed as Meryl went to fix Henry a plate and Don put him in his high chair.
Meryl smiled as she put Henry's plate on his high chair tray and kissed the top of his head. "Here you go, angel. Mommy will get you some milk."
"I'll get it babe." Don said with a smack to her ass as he he passed by her.
Meryl flashed him a smile. "Thanks, sweetheart."
"NO! NO! MOMMY! NO MILK, DADDY!" Henry started to pout.
Meryl took a deep breath as she fixed hers and Don's plates. "Here we go. The first fit of the day."
"Don't you just love the terrible two's?" Don teased as he fixed a cup of milk for his son.
