"Would it be inappropriate if I had you sit on my lap?" Don asked raising his eyebrow at her while they were waiting at the prison.

Meryl smiled at him; she knew he didn't mean it in a sexual way but a way to keep her safe. They were both terrified. "Would it be wrong if I wanted to sit on your lap?"

"Get over here." Don laughed.

Meryl sat so both her legs were draped over his as they both laughed and then she laid her head on his shoulder. "I've REALLY missed this, Don Man."

"My bad jokes?" Don tried to tease as he kissed the top of her head.

Meryl laughed again. "Yes." Meryl then pressed her forehead against his. "I've really missed laughing like this with you."

"Me too, beautiful." Don said with a kiss to her lips. "We both lost our equilibrium, our center-each other. NOT of our own choosing. It's going to take awhile to get it back. But, I'll tell you something."

Meryl rubbed her nose against his when she saw how serious he was. "What's that, handsome?"

"I have NEVER EVER loved you more than I do, right now, in this moment." Don said wiping her tears. "And I NEVER EVER want to be without you again."

Meryl nodded as she swallowed past the tears. "I have NEVER loved you more and I'll be damned if I'm ever without you again."

"We're going to get past this, love." Don said as he kissed her nose. "We haven't even been out of the hospital for 24 hours. I got my center back, you and Henry."

Meryl smiled as she kissed his lips. "We have ours back as well."

"Guys." Larry said stepping over to them. "We're ready."

Don stopped her as they were about to enter the private room. "You really want to see that face again?"

"No." Meryl choked. "But I do want to see him locked away and know that he can never hurt you or Henry or get to us again."

Don kissed her hard on the lips and moaned as she deepened the kiss. When they broke away he leaned his forehead against his. "It's not going to be like the last time you saw him, Darl, because I am not letting you go."

"You didn't let me go last time." Meryl whispered. "Every thing you went through, every street you walked down, beating your father up, pulling him off of me shows you didn't let me go. I'm glad we're here together, Mr. Gummer."

Don nodded as he placed a tender kiss on her lips. "Me too, Mrs. Gummer."

"Ready?" Larry asked as he opened the door and they nodded.

Don wrapped one arm around her shoulder and she was holding his other hand between both of hers. "Sweetheart?"

"Yeah." Meryl said holding onto him tightly.

Don looked around and then looked at Meryl. "Darl, do you want to sit down?"

"I don't want to be here long enough to sit down." Meryl said as Don nodded then she looked at Larry and the guards. "I'm ready." Then she felt Don move. "Where are you going?!"

Don stood behind her and wrapped his arms around her from behind as he rested his chin on her shoulder so he could whisper in her ear. "Right here, baby, holding you."

"Okay." Meryl cried as she placed her hands on his that were on her belly. "Now I really am ready."

Larry nodded. "I'm going to turn on this monitor that shows right into his cell."
