Matt is out looking for a day job while Bonnie, Caroline, Damon, and Stefan all sit around at a local coffee shop in Rosewood called "Java Lava ". They're sitting by a huge window in the back as sunlight streams in beautifully and casts a hazy, calming vibe on everyone. There's a few other people filling the place with light chatter. It's 10:00a.m. the next day and the gang is wondering if moving away from Mystic Falls really solved any of their problems.

"I would much rather be drinking blood than this..." Damon holds up his cup of hot chocolate. He takes a sip and pauses for a moment. "Forget what I said, this tastes pretty good."

"Yesterday was ridiculous." Stefan says. "There aren't supposed to be vampires in RoseWood. We're being followed."

"Yeah... so what happened to the guy anyway?" Bonnie asks, referring to the vampire that attacked everyone.

"I killed him." Damon says, and everyone glares at him. "What? Once he finally woke up he went all rawr and attack on me, it was just self defense."

"Damon, he was our only link to getting answers! We need to find out who's been messing with us and kill them before it escalates." Caroline says, exasperated.

"You all are taking it too serious. So some dick got us free rooms then covered Enzo's with vervain. Not our problem, as far as I'm concerned." Damon says.

Bonnie points to him. "He does have a point."

"See?" Damon says to Caroline. She rolls her eyes. "For now lets just relax and get used to this new town. Socialize. I'll buddy up with the sherif like in Mystic Falls. Only get alarmed if there are heretics or originals after us."

Caroline blazes with anger and throws a knife at him. He catches it with his hand. "Don't joke about my mom, Damon. She was your friend." She hisses.

"Yeah Damon, that was pretty low." Stefan says.

"You all seem to forget, I'm just not a nice guy." Damon says. Bonnie gives him a warning look. He sighs. "I'm sorry, Care. You know I'm bad at emotions and all that and I make jokes to deal with the pain." He says.

"He apologized. Is this an alternate universe?" Caroline asks, and Stefan and Bonnie laugh. Damon pouts.

"Damn, I hate being the good guy." Damon says, and Bonnie gives him a side hug.

"You love it." She jokes.

"So if we're planning to stay here for a while we'll eventually have to buy a house you know." Caroline says. "With vampire compulsion magic we can get it for free. We should get a realtor soon so we can look at our options."

"Ah Caroline, miss organization. What would we do without you?" Damon jokes. He takes a sip of his hot chocolate.

"Guys, you need to see this." Hannah says to the girls back in their hotel room. It's the next day, and all the girls are exhausted and shaken up from last night. They all slept on one bed, holding each other tightly.

Hannah is traumatized from the attack but for some reason can't seem to remember exactly what happened. It's like there are holes in her memory. But she also senses that whatever it is, it's better she doesn't remember.

"Why, what is it, Hannah?" Emily asks her, furrowing her eyebrows. Hannah notions her and the others to follow. They walk out of the hotel room and into the hallway. The air reeks of something vile. Aria and Spencer start to cough, and cover their mouths and noses with their hands.

They all then look up at the wall and see words written in blood that has started dripping.

"Oh God." Aria gasps.
