The path that I once took

V-II

Drowning in my own misery,

I did not know where to flee.

Not wanting my past to affect my future,

I want my life to start over.

Then you came into my life like a ray of hope.

You were patient, you were kind,

who filled happy memories in my mind.

You gave me a reason to live,

and taught me how to fight & how to forgive.

Not knowing how to tell you how broken I am.

I was scared, you would call it a scam.

Then came the moment of truth.

I thought you would run away to hills,

but then you surprised me by capturing my lips,

giving it a soft kiss.

You said, "scars indicate strength".

To protect me, you would go to any length.

Being shocked and surprised,

tears welled up in my eyes.

You hugged me tight,

and said together we would fight.
