The path that I once took

life seems easy when we try to forget our past,

as everything seems to settle at last.

However, life is not always roses and rainbows,

since the memories you want to forget will always have its way to show.

Standing near the window, watching the dark clouds

I feel alone even when I am in the crowds.

Closing my eyes I went back in time,

when you first held my hand

promising me you would be my side every time.

You treated me like a treasure, 

which gave me immense pleasure.

Your smile would lighten the room,

I did not know then that our relationship is doomed.

Opening my eyes with tears sliding down my cheek,

solace to my heart is what I seek.

Looking at our picture I want to remember your happy face

not the torment that you went through in your last days.
