Let me tell you, Kim was right. The house was wonderful actually absolutely amazing. It had everything I wanted and even more. Enough private space for me and Ronnie, a pool, fitness room, a huge kitchen, living room and dining room, enough guestrooms and a big backyard. Also we were allowed to build a fence, so not everyone that walked by, could look into my house and so I'd decided to buy it.
After Ronnie had talked with the realtor about the ownership process, we had left our rental car in front of our house and walked over to Kim and rang the bell at her gate.
"Hello?" I heard a voice that definitely didn't belong to Kim, not even an adult and I answered that it was Tina and Ronnie and we would like to talk to Kim.
The last thing we heard was a loud "Moooooom" and seconds later the gate was opened and we walked inside and up the driveway to the house.
"We need a gate like that." Ronnie whispered and I nodded in agreement.
"Hey, you really came." Kim said with a smile when she had opened the front door and much to my surprise pulled me in a quick hug, while she shook Ronnie's hand and introduced herself to her. "Come in, coffee's almost ready. Or do you want something else?!" Kim asked and ushered us into the house.
"Coffee is great." I answered her politely and Ronnie chuckled beside me.
"She does hardly drink anything else." She told Kim and nodded at me and I shot her a fake glare.
"Mom, who's that?" A teenage girl asked when we followed Kim into her living room and Kim introduced us to her.
"That's my youngest daughter Whitney." She told us and Whitney waved shortly and then ran out off the room. "She's like a tornado." Kim sighed and I chuckled shortly. "So how was the house?" She went on and motioned with her hand on the couches, showing us that we should sit down and I smiled widely.
"I can only say this. You have new neighbors." I told her and she clapped her hands and laughed.
"Finally!!! I really can't talk these old weirdos anymore." Ronnie started laughing beside me and while I chuckled, Kim walked out and came back shortly after with coffee cups, sugar and milk.We had sat for almost one hour now and had given Kim a summary what brought us here and she had told us about her daughters, when the doorbell rang.
"Whit, please look who's at the door!" Kim turned her head and yelled for her daughter, who came running down the stairs.
"It's Dad. I already know that." Whitney answered her and while she opened up, Kim looked at us with a pretty uncomfortable look on her face.
"Please don't freak out when you see him." She said with a sigh and I looked at her confused and then at Ronnie who shrugged her shoulders, looking as confused as I was and then we heard Whitney yell happily "Daddy!"I took a deep breath and prepared myself 'to not freak out' over the man who was about to appear in the living room, but let's be honest you can't be prepared if Eminem is walking around the corner towards you...
Hoooooooooly......... now I know where I know Kim from.......
"Hey Kim!" He greeted his ex wife casually and she got up as well as Ronnie and I. He hugged her shortly and then turned to look at us.
Don't faint..... straight face Tina! He's a normal human being.......
"I didn't know you had friends over, I would have called." He told Kim and she smiled at him.
"Not only friends, they're my new neighbors!" Kim stated and he stuck his hand out for us to shake it.
"I'm Marshall." He said and Ronnie and I introduced ourselves. "Which house are you moving in?" He asked and before we could answer his question, Kim sighed beside him and we looked at her.
"The Whitman's." She answered with a dreamy look and I chuckled.
"For real Kim? Still that house?" Marshall asked her fake annoyed and she shrugged her shoulders with a apologetic smile.
"Be careful she might move in with y'all." He warned us jokingly and I shrugged my shoulders
"We have enough space." I answered him nonchalantly and he looked at me with those amazing blue eyes, that everyone was freaking out over.
"But Tina, you could be nice and sell it to me?!" Kim stated and I tore my eyes away from Marshall's and looked at her.
"Or we can switch houses, because I really like yours." I offered and she smiled widely, before Marshall jumped in.
"Please don't plant ideas like that in her head, she might get back on that." He told me and I nodded with a small smile. "And honestly I don't think your partner would be okay, if you switch the house you just bought together."
I looked at him questioning, then turned to Ronnie, who did everything to not burst out in laughter, but it was useless.
"Oh my.... you don't really think we're a couple, right?"Gosh Ronnie.... stop laughing about him....
But fuck it's funny as hell!!!!!"Marshall?!" Kim started but laughed also and I looked at my feet, pressed my lips together and bit my tongue to not laugh along with them. "You don't really think they're lesbians?" Kim went on and he only shrugged his shoulders.
"She's my best friend!" I told him sincerely and he nodded with a half smile, which disappeared quickly.
"You're unbelievable." Kim said still laughing and he looked at her with a questioning look.
"Why? These days the hot ones are all lesbians." He stated dryly and we all looked at him with something between shocked, stunned and weirded out by his statement. For seconds the room was completely quiet and then Kim started laughing and patted his shoulder.
"You really have no filter!" She turned and looked at me and Ronnie, "I apologize for that. He never really learned to control it, the words are just blurring out of his mouth." And again she started laughing, which made Ronnie laugh also, while I looked at Marshall who shrugged his shoulders in a 'I don't give a fuck' manner.
"Daddy, can we go?" Whitney asked when she walked in the room and while Marshall nodded, she walked over to her mother and hugged her saying "bye".
"It was nice to meet you Tina," Marshall said and stuck his hand out for me to shake it, "I guess we'll see each other more from now on?!"Is that a question?!?!?!?!
"Yes, I guess, it was also nice to meet you." I replied and he looked at me a bit longer than normal, then released my hand and shook Ronnie's.
"It was also nice to meet you....."
"Veronica!" Kim helped him with the name and looked at him with a smug smile on her face.
"Sorry, scatter brain." He mumbled and released Ronnie's hand. "Ladies, have a nice day." He said, turned to Kim and hugged her shortly and then went out with Whitney.I've just met Eminem!!!!! FUCK MY LIFE!!!!!
"Thanks for not freaking out." Kim said sincerely when the front door was closed behind them and we had sat down again.
"I assume it happens a lot, that friends of you are freaking out?!" I asked her and she sighed and nodded, before she answered.
"A lot of people I meet actually already know who I am, but when he's coming over then they totally flip." She told us and I nodded.
"Well he's still a human being, right? So there's really no need to freak out." Ronnie played it down and Kim nodded and smiled.
"You two actually are the first women who didn't act all weird around him, that's why he was that way. Normally he doesn't joke or isn't making stupid comments. He likes people like you two and looks like you are very interesting for him." She explained and pointed and looked at me and I looked at her confused and surprised.
"Surely you know him, but I'm really not that interesting." I answered her honestly and Ronnie slapped my shoulder.
"Oh hush." She told me jokingly and then looked at Kim. "Tina still isn't aware off the affect she can have on a man. I wonder that the dudes don't start drooling when they see her." She said and I widened my eyes and Kim laughed.
"Let me tell you this. If Marshall's acting like this he's trying to get something out off you and I tell you, this man is like a pitbull. Once he bites in something, he won't let go." Kim told me and I looked at her in disbelief.
"Y'all actually weird me out." I told them and we laughed. We had spent the whole day with Kim, talking about the house and she gave us the phone number of her interior designer. Also she invited us to dinner on Sunday, to which her older daughters, Whitney and also Marshall would attend too. I declined her invitation first, saying that it was a family thing and I didn't want to intrude. But she had reassured me that she really really wanted me to come over and so after I had told her, we would only attend if she would let us help with the cooking, we agreed.
"We met Eminem, can you believe that?" Ronnie asked me when we had left Kim's house and sat in our car, while driving back to the hotel.
"It's fucking unbelievable. But I'm actually more happy to met Kim, she's a great person." I answered her and Ronnie nodded.
"Bestie I think we have finally found a place where we can be happy!" I smiled at her statement and nodded.Looks like it was the best decision ever to move to Detroit.....
