My alarm went off at 9:00am. I rolled out of my mass of covers and onto the floor, stretching. After taking a few minutes to stretch, I lazily strolled over to my dresser opening drawers and pulling out clothes. I had decided on a dark blue tank top and a gray sweatshirt. Paired with that, a pair of jeans and sneakers. I changed and brushed through my mess of hair. I didn't put on much makeup, just a little mascara. I didn't really have anyone to impress, unless you count Peridot. I chose an oceany perfume my mom had bought me two years ago and sprayed a little on. There. I was ready to go hang out with Coal and Peri.

I walked into the kitchen, grabbing an apple. My mom called me into the dining room. "Lapis, Coal and his mom are here! Come say hi!"

I walked in, waving a weak hello. Coal looked exactly the same as when I had left, as did his mom. Same sandy blond hair and sea blue eyes. Same lightly tanned skin, a little paler than my own skin. Same wrestler-built body. His mom smiled, "Here's some money for you Lapis! After you two are done hanging out, you can get a hotel room for the two of you." She winked.

I groaned mentally. I'd have to keep Coal's hands off of me all day. I forced a smile on my face. "Thanks Mrs. Park."

"Let's head out." Coal smiled and opened the door for me. We walked out together. As we walked down the sidewalk, I noticed his hand trying to brush mine. I sped up a little. "We should go to the boardwalk. There's a lot of cool places down there."

Coal nodded and we walked in silence for a minute. "I think you look pretty hot."

"Thanks." I said, not letting any emotion leak into my voice. I had already told Coal I wasn't in love with him. When would he finally understand what that meant?

He flexed a muscle. "What do you think?"

I rolled my eyes. "Simply charming."

He didn't seem to notice my eye roll or sense my sarcasm. Or maybe he was just being ignorant. "Thanks Lappy. It means a lot coming from you."

I glanced around, searching for Peridot. At last, I finally saw her tiny blonde head buying ice cream. "Hey we should get ice cream." I suggested.

Coal agreed and we walked over to stand in line, right behind Peridot. I tapped her on the shoulder. "Peri? I never thought I'd meet you here!"

"What?" I thought-"

I interrupted her. "This is Coal."

He gave a quick nod and Peridot curled her lip in distaste. "You are so not Lapis's type."

He rose an eyebrow. "Why do you say that?"

A slow smirk grew onto Peri's face. "Cuz this." She turned to face me and gave me a quick peck on the lips.

Coal blinked a few times, confused. "Lapis I thought you loved me!"

I nodded, "I did love you. But that was a year ago. I've changed." I gently rested my hand on his shoulder. "We've both changed."

He pushed my hand off his shoulder, his expression betrayed. "I still love you Lapis."

I nodded sadly. "I know. But you'll have to move on. I'm sorry Coal."

Peridot, Coal, and I all stood awkwardly in line for a few more seconds until Coal walked away. He turned back, hurt, and wandered down the boardwalk alone.

"Should I go after him?" I took a step forward, but Peri grabbed my arm.

Peridot shook her head. "He just needs some time alone. Let's get some ice cream."

I pulled her hand off of my arm, "I'm not in the mood right now." I snapped and walked towards the beach, not looking back. I knew I would see the same expression on Coal's face written on Peridot's.

A/N: Sorry it took so long to post another part. I've been so busy with school work, I still have stomach aches constantly. I've actually decided to be more active so I've spent some free time working out instead of getting to write. Oh! And I'm working on some other fanfiction stuff. I hope you enjoy this ;)
