"Must cin glenn- Erelil?" Galadriel asks her youngest daughter. (Translation: Must you go Erelil?)
"Must mín glenn- trí i same conversation everui ín im glenn- naImladris naneth?" Erelil asks. (Translation: Must we go through the same conversation every year I go to Rivendell Mother?)Every ten years there is a feast in both Rivendell and Lothlorien to celebrate Erelil's older sisters life. She has sailed to Aman two and sixty years ago. This year Erelil was going to Rivendell for the feast while her parents remained in Lothlorien.
"Im just worrui nia cin sui does cín adar, mín gar- lost er -iel a ceri- ú- iest na lose another" Galadriel states. (Translation: I just worry about you as does your Father, we have lost one daughter and do not wish to lose another.)
"Im'll n- tríw naneth, Rhoben will n- with nin" Erelil reminds her. (Translation: I'll be fine mother, Rhoden will be with me.) Rhoben is her wild stallion that only obeys her and no one else. It is said he has Mearas blood in him. Erelil found him as a foal caught in a man made trap and she released him. Now when ever needed he comes to her. But he is getting old now at the age of forty-two.
"Mín know i -iel, but cin are a future rís a gar- na begin cín training soon" Celeborn tells her as he enters the room. (Translation: We know that daughter, but you are a future queen and have to begin your training soon.) He wraps his arms around his wife kissing her cheek. "ú- na mention cin baur na rad- a herven na thenid bui cín haer" he adds. (Translation: Not to mention you need to find a husband to rule by your side.)
"Farn adar, cin know im anír- na rad- mel. Like anír- cin a naneth gar-, like Celebrian had with Elrond" Erelil states. (Translation: Enough father, you know I want to find love. Like want you and mother have.) "Hi tur- im ú- post sui im leave at erui galad tomorrow" she reminds them. (Translation: Now can I not rest as I leave at first light tomorrow.)She was already in her light blue night gown that matches her blue eyes and her silver hair unbraided.
"-o iór -iel, ceri- cin iest an a glír?" Galadriel asks. (Translation: Of course daughter, do you wish for a song?) Erelil nods her head and her parents sat either side of her. As Galadriel began sing in an elvish lullaby. Erelil fell asleep, but Galadriel continued to sing until she had finished the song.
"Lovelui sui always Galadriel" Celeborn compliments his wife. (Translation: Lovely as always Galadriel.) They both then left the room quietly so as not to wake the sleeping Erelil. Once they reached their bed chamber they prepared for bed and went to sleep also.
(Next morning)
"Farewell meld mellon until mín govannon- ad-" Haldir tells Erelil. (Translation: Farewell my friend until we meet again.) Haldir has trained Erelil to be able to defend herself in battle. They have grown up together and she sees him as a big brother. He has just become March-warden of the northern borders of Lothlorien. So he could not travel with Erelil to Rivendell this year.
"Farewell Haldir" Erelil says bowing her head before letting out a whistle. Rhoden appears and she mounts him with Haldir's help. "Farewell, naneth and adar" she tells her parents. (Translation: Farewell mother and father.)
"Farewell dearest -iel gar- a safe lend" Celeborn says as Galadriel steps forward on a platform beside Erelil. (Translation: dearest daughter have a safe journey.)
"Hi belonged na Celebrian before he sailed, he told nin na on- ha na cin ir cin began cín rís training" Galadriel says. (Translation: This belonged to Celebrian before she sailed, she told me to give it to you when you began your queen training.) In her hands is Celebrian's old necklace.
"Thank cin naneth, im'll cherish ha always" Erelil says as her mother puts the necklace around her neck. (Translation: Thank you Mother, I'll cherish it always.) Celeborn had already given his daughter a cloak that would hide her from unfriendly eyes. After saying their last farewells Erelil and her company leave making their way along the Misty Mountains.
(Later that same day near Mirkwood)
Erelil and her company have stopped to rest for the night. She decided to go to the river to sing a little in her night gown and shall. She started to sing the song she had written in the common tongue about her sister.
"She was an elf with long legs
Who had no friends
Cause everyone around her was small and petite
Perfect and she was all so different
She didn't like it at all
Why must I be so tall?
Was I meant to be completely alone?
And oh, I want something different
Once, when the moon was full
She sat on her stool
An said "Hello, old friend, could you grant me a wish
And take me away to some place that's different"
La la la, la la la, la la la la la
So the moon sang a tune
And it went like this
"You are so beautiful, so special
And someday you will find a love
That's strong and kind and true"
La la la, la la la, la la la la la
And when she opened her eyes
To her surprise, there was a man
With very large hands to hold hers
And he was all so different
La la la, la la la, la la la la la" before she could continue she was cut off by a roar filling the night air. She hears the shout of her company as they run toward her weapons drawn. But as she tired to reach them her way was blocked by a wall of fire. They all look up to see a dragon flying over head. The guards tell Erelil to run and she does so.
While she was away the dragon killed her entire company. However, Rhoden found her and she got on his back and he run towards the mountains. But Erelil soon heard the dragon following them and stopped Rhoden. She told him to run to Rivendell and not look back. When he left she started running in the other direction.
"You're mine now" the dragon roared and swooped down picking her up in his talons.
"Baw baw, let nin glenn- baw!" Erelil yells in elvish. But did not move in fear of getting cut by the talons. He did not listen and continued to fly on over Mirkwood towards Erebor. "Want do you want with me?" she asks in the common tongue.
"I heard you singing and decided to make you about of my new treasure hoard. You will stay with me forever and sing for me" the dragon states. "No point in running or screaming, no one can save you now" he adds. Erelil silently wept as she knew he was right.
(Sunrise in Rivendell)
Rhoden reached Rivendell unharmed and Elrond knew immediately something was wrong. He assembled a search party and sent a messenger to Lothlorien. Before he to joined the search for his Sister in law. When they found her camp set it had been burnt to the ground and there was no sign of her. While her company all lay dead.
(Meanwhile in Erebor)
Smaug dropped Erelil gently when they reached the treasure hall. "Now sing for me she elf" he demands as he lays down on the gold. Erelil sighed and started singing the lullaby her mother had sang to her the night before she left home. Soon Smaug was asleep and Erelil fell asleep also after have none the night before.
