komaru couldn't close her eyes anymore.
every time she did, she would see her getting crushed in the paws of that damn bear. the brunette would watch helplessly as her blood poured onto the ground. as she let out a pained cry.
she didn't pass out because of her extreme phobia of blood. she didn't pass out because her other personality was making a breakthrough.
she didn't even pass out. but, alas, she did go limp. she did stop struggling. her eyes did close.
it was because she died. her lifeless body was dropped to the ground, bones making a loud crunch as they hit the dirty, broken asphalt. the giant bears' claws would gently caress her, then finally.
blood. that's all komaru would see. her heart would start to pound too hard, her eyes would start to glaze over. she would hug herself, clench her teeth and break down.
komaru nearly jumped out of her skin when she heard a helpless sob leave her lips. she had scared herself. sorta funny.
and since it was 'sorta funny', komaru forced herself to laugh. although the situation was grim, she chuckled under her breath and wiped her emerald eyes.
the laugh- the weak, solemn chuckle that had barley passed her lips- seemed to wake her brother up. his weak figure tensed as he fluttered his eyelashes. komaru smiled softly. pushing some of makoto's soft hair from his face, she murmured a gentle, "morning."
naegi nodded in response. he yawned, slowly sitting up. he was previously laying on komaru's lap, as that's how he had fallen asleep last night while they were watching a child's movie.
makoto hadn't changed in the slightest. he was still short, childish, yet brave. determined. strong. strong unlike komaru.
komaru didn't sleep. she never did. she couldn't. she couldn't. she couldn't.
oh, how makoto wished that his sister could sleep without breaking down, without being unable to breathe, without mindlessly clawing at her forearms as she shook violently.
makoto blinked twice, then slowly turned to look at his sister. she was staring at the ground, a weak smile on her face. makoto knew what she was thinking about, he knew what she was crying about.
komaru wasn't able to say anything, so makoto spoke for her. his voice was comforting. loving. soft.
"how i wish she was still here."
