The doorbell rang, and Kyra pitter pattered to the door.
"Kyra, you know you're not supposed to answer the door without one of us with you." Mom called out.
"I got it, mom. It's Reid." I called.
"Oh. I wasn't aware he was coming over."Jackson glanced from over his phone.
"Yes, dad. He's coming over to hang out. Not that big of a deal considering we live together."I rolled my eyes.
"Well, since this is my house, it is a big deal, and I need to know when your boyfriend is coming over." He continued to argue, as my mother went to stall Reid at the door. "Why exactly is he coming over?"
"We're just going to talk." I said vaguely, hoping my dad would drop it.
"Talk about what?" He pressed on.
"We're just talking, okay? Please just let him in." I pleaded.
My father agreed and my mom was relieved to be able to stop stalling him on the front porch.
"Hi babe." Reid greeted me with a kiss.
"Ahem." Announced Jackson.
"Are we not allowed to even kiss now?" I asked sarcastically.
"If I'm not mistaken, he came over to talk, and if you two need to talk, you can do it right down here in the living room." My dad glared.
"No, we really can't, dad. There's things we have to talk about that we don't want the whole world hearing." I defended.
"Your tone makes me think there's more going on than just talking." Jackson continued to press on.
"Please, dad just leave us be. We've been living alone in an apartment for 6 months now, so I promise you we can't get into much trouble in my bedroom upstairs with you two just down here and my siblings right across the hall."
"Fine. Go." Jackson dismissed hesitantly.
"Thanks, dad." I said, swiftly walking away before he changed his mind again.
"But that door stays open!" He shouted.
"We'll see."

"Lacey! I need to talk to you right now." Cole demanded.
"What is it, Cole? Reid and I need to talk about some stuff." I sighed.
"So it turns out those pregnancy tests were Haleigh's. And it turns out she is pregnant. So I guess i'm gonna be a dad." He nervously laughed.
"You've got to be fucking joking. You know mom and dad are going to kill you, right?" I glared at him.
"Lacey? Are you coming in here?" Reid asked, peeking his head out the door.
"Put your shirt back on. My idiot brother knocked up his girlfriend so now I have to go make him tell our parents."
"Wait. For real?" He questioned.
"Yes, Reid. For real. Now put a damn shirt on and get out here please." I begged.
"I'm not going down there and telling them. That's not my job. I don't even know if Haleigh is keeping the baby, so until i know for sure, i'm not having this discussion." Cole raged.
"So help me if i don't hurt you, Cole. Go be with her. If she keeps this baby, she has to deal with the pregnancy for 9 months. You WILL stand by her side every step of the way." I lectured.
"Who are you? Mom?" Cole shot back.
"Shut up and listen. She needs you for this. You're gonna be a dad, so buck up buddy." I said, heading for the stairs.
"You aren't going down there." He tried to stop.
"This is happening. Right now, because it's only going to escalate-" i was cut off by loud pounding at the front door.
"Who the hell does your son think he is taking advantage of my daughter? She's pregnant now because of him." Haleigh's father intimidatingly shouted at the front door, as he stood with a nervous-looking Haleigh.
"Oh shit." Cole muttered.
"COLE RYAN PORTER. GET DOWN HERE. RIGHT NOW." My father shouted from downstairs.
"You'd better go." I nudged.
Cole scurried down the stairs and everyone began shouting indistinct things at one another.
"Okay. Now that that has been taken care of, although it may not be the right time, there was a few things I kind of wanted to talk about." I paced back and forth across my bedroom.
"What is it babe?" Reid questioned.
"Um well I don't really know how to put it in a way that's not so forward, but I want to have a baby. Not now. In a couple of years, but I really want to have another baby. With you." I rambled.
"I didn't even think that was a question. Of course I want to have another baby with you someday. But I think, for the sake of all of us, we should be married before we try to have a child again."
"I agree. So this is happening. We're going to have a family together!" I grinned as Reid picked me up and spun me around.
"Just us and our little family."

Reid and I rolled out of bed that next morning and crept down the stairs.
"Ahem." My father called.
"Oh, crap." I rolled my eyes and slunk over to the kitchen.
"Did he spend the night?" Jackson asked, pointing towards Reid.
"Yes, but nothing happened. We talked. And then we realized how late it was and fell asleep." I quickly defended.
"Uh-hm. That's the same story you told me when you were sixteen, yet you still ended up pregnant." He criticized.
"Cole just found out he knocked up his girlfriend. Reid and I aren't dumb enough to go around and have sex that same night. We know better."
"It's too early for arguing, Lacey. Why doesn't Reid go on back to his house and you stay here for the day. Okay?" My mother interjected.
"Fine. Whatever." I waved my hand as Reid and I walked back towards the stairs.
"No. That means he leaves now. He can go home now. You'll see him tomorrow." Leah urged.
"God, mom. Could we at least eat breakfast first?" I complained.
"Well, yes of course you can eat breakfast, but you two were headed back upstairs. I made eggs and bacon so you can take it or leave it." Leah rambled.
"Reid is allergic to eggs. You know this." I explained.
"Well then I suppose it's just time for him to go home then, isn't it?" My mother said, with a sly grin.
"I'm going to go eat breakfast with Reid. At his house. Where his mother isn't going to try to sabotage it." I huffed.
"Don't you dare walk out of that door. You're home for summer so grounding you is fair game, young lady." She shouted back, as we walked toward the door.
"Lacey. Do not go out that door, I mean it. You need to listen to your mother." My father threatened.
"I'll see you guys later today. Bye." I slipped on my sandals, turned the knob, and walked outside.
"How pissed do you think they're going to be later?" Reid questioned.
"Eh. They've got my brother and his baby mama to worry about right now. They can get over it."
"You're right. Let's just live in the moment. Just me and you for one day." He leaned over, and kissed me softly on the lips.
"I could get used to this." I smiled and walked gleefully down the street.
