I can't believe I never noticed a god dang hickey on my neck and Katie seen it right in front of mama, I'm dead.
"Thomas Luther" Mama said "I think we need to talk don't you"
"Yes ma'am" I said sullen
"Daddy" Caydence said running in
"Hey baby girl, can y'all do me a big favour can you and Tate go upstairs and play real good, I need to talk to your meemaw"
"Ok daddy, have you been bad is that why mama ran out crying" she asked
"You could say that" I said
"Oh daddy's going to get told off from meemaw for being naughty." She said running off to get her brother.
"So, care to explain the mark on your neck and don't you even dare think about lying to me" she said
"I have been kinda seeing this girl, that's where I was just now, I didn't know it was there, I'm so sorry Mama" I said as I put my head in my hands
"What do you mean seeing a girl, you have a girl, your married to her" she said raising her voice
"Her name is Anna" was all I could say
"You need to start from the beginning boy" she scowled
"Katie and I kinda hit a rough patch a few years back but rather than talk about it, I buried my head in the sand, I extended my tour and Katie started this tennis thing so we were like ships passing in the night. I kinda grew to resent one another. Don't get me wrong mama I love her but I don't know if I'm in love with her. I feel like the spark has gone" I said
"Luke baby, I can see the love you to have for one another but I can also see you are both unhappy. Katie is so hurt that you are having an affair. How would you feel"
"It ain't an affair mama it's an escape and if the shoe was on the other foot, yes I would be sad. I know what I'm doing is wrong but when I'm with Anna I don't care. Katie is so distant towards me sometimes, I have tried to make her happy but nothing seems to anymore" I was pouring my heart out.
"Luke, you need to figure out what you want, what you both want. You have a family to think of. And this Anna, where did you meet her and who is she" she asked
"I met her at one of my shows, she had a meet and greet, she reminded me so much of Katie when we first got together. She is 29 from Tulsa and works in Marketing." I said showing her a picture I had in my phone.
"I can see what you mean she does look like Katie, but Luke you need to decide who you want Katie or Anna. And I think someone is definitely going to get hurt, that girl obviously is smitten with you but don't lose faith in your marriage. Why don't I take the kids for a few days and you and Katie go to the cabin for a little while. Try and find that spark." She said
"I think that is a great idea mama, and I am so sorry to have disappointed you" I said giving her a hug
"No matter what you are still my boy and I want you to be happy" she said returning the hug.
Mama went upstairs and helped the twins with there home work. Just a t that Bo came home
"Hey daddy, where's mama" he asked
"She popped out to the store, your meemaw is up stairs, go and say hey, she has gifts" I said
When he went upstairs I pulled my phone out and texted Anna
Me : A hickey seriously, was that intentional x
Anna 🌻: oh shit sorry no, must have got lost in the moment, it was some moment xx
Me: I forgive you, even though Katie and my Mama saw it. I'm in serious shit here x
Anna🌻: 😲  what they say x
Me : Katie stormed out, Mama scolded me. Going to try sort things out. Going to go away for a few days with Katie try sort things out x
Anna 🌻: Ok
Me: you mad x
Anna🌻: no, have a good few days, see you later
