We got everything sorted out with Anna and my legal team and since then she has backed off. Katie and I both attended every scan. Anna and Brett got engaged as well so that kinda kept her occupied.
Katie and I where laying in bed when the phone rang
"Hello" I said
"Luke it's Brett the baby is coming, he's coming now" he said concerned
"What do you mean he, She told me it was a girl" I said
"I'm sorry Luke she lied. Please can you and Katie make it to Vanderbilt ASAP" he said panicky
Katie and I grabbed our clothes and I got Bo to watch the twins while made quickly made our way to the hospital
"Baby everything will be ok" Katie said as she held my hand as we sped toward the hospital
"I know I'm just a little anxious. Plus I'm a little angry as well. She lied baby, it's a boy not a girl" I said
"Why would she lie, but we went to all the scans" she said
"I don't know baby" I said
We reached the hospital in record time. Brett was standing out front. He looked worried
"Hey buddy what's happening" I said
"She has been rushed into theatre, there is complications" he said
"Are they ok"
"I don't know Luke she passed out in the reception that's why they rushed her in"
Katie held me and said
"It will be ok baby" she said rubbing my back.
"Brett it will be ok" she said hugging him
"I ain't got a good feeling Katie" he said with tears in his eyes.
Just at that the doctor came out
"Who is the Dad"
"I am" Brett and I said in unison
"Sorry, he is is the biological dad" Brett said pointing to me
"I'm afraid I have some bad news. Your baby boy was born 5 minutes ago but unfortunately his mum didn't make it, she haemorrhaged during surgery and we were unable to save her. I'm so sorry" he said
I felt as if my world had fell apart,I dropped to my knees
"Baby come on please it will be ok." Katie said hugging me tight
I looked up Brett was in hysterics. I went over and hugged him
"Brett I am so sorry"
"Can we see the baby" I asked
"Yes come through."
The three of us went through to the nursery
"Baby we need to look after the baby, Brett we want you to be in his life as well. Anna was your fiancé, we need to make him remember her"
