I woke up at 7 with the sorest neck ever. This is what happens when I don't have my pillow. Anna has this knack of getting my knots out for me. Stop it Luke you are trying to sort things out with Katie.
I heard rumblings coming from upstairs, here goes I said to myself.
Katie stumbled downstairs looking like she had been pulled through a hedge backwards.
"Good Morning" I said
"Morning" she grunted
"Coffee is in the kitchen it's just brewed" I said
"Thank you"
I went into the kitchen and sat down at the table. There was an awkward silence. I spoke first
"Katie we need to talk" I said
"I know" she replied
"Listen I have been seeing someone else, her name is Anna as you know, but I am willing to try again with you. I do love you but I'm not in love with you." I said
"I kinda gathered that Luke, you are hardly ever home and I have kinda got used to you not being here. I feel the same. What do we do. I don't the kids being caught up in our drama"
"Well mama suggested that we go away for a few days and try and reconnect but I don't think you would want to do that" I asked
"Not really, I can't get you and her out my mind Luke. I think we both need some real time apart, we both need to find ourselves." She said
"Are we splitting up" I asked
"Yes we are. Luke I see how you smile when she texts you. I have also been texting someone, he is in both our lives but I haven't pursued it at all." She said
"Who is it Katie."
"Promise you won't get mad and go after him. Just remember where you were yesterday" she said
"I won't, just tell me" I said
"It's Brett" she said
I can't believe what I'm hearing, but who am I to be angry
"He's a good guy" was all I could say. I stood up and put my cup in the sink.
"I will head over to Mamas and say goodbye to the kids. I think it's best I left. Stay here have the house. And hopefully things will be good between us once more" I said kissing her head
"She is lucky to have you Luke," she said
"I was lucky to have you and look at us now. Bye baby" I said kissing her head and grabbing my stuff.
I got into the truck tears rolling down my face. I took out my phone and text Anna
Me: hey fancy a roommate xx
