Jason's pov

I can't take my eyes off her. She's so tiny and amazing. I love her so much. She was fast asleep in her bassinet. "Perfect healthy baby girl." I whisper happily. I looked down at my hand. "Oh yeah I forgot. You broke my hand." I don't know who I'm talking to. They're both asleep. I should get some sleep myself but I don't want to look away from her. The door opens and the doctor walks in. "I can't believe she broke your hand." I laugh. "I don't care. My baby girl is here." "What'd you decide to name her." "Alison Elizabeth." "Beautiful." He checks her vitals.

*the next day*

Luke and DeeJay were visiting and gushing over the baby, debating who's going to be a better uncle. I smile watching them. "You're both gonna be great uncles! Now shut up!" Miranda groggily mumbles, eyes shut tight, trying to sleep. I put a finger to my lips and nod to the door. We go to the waiting room, my hands in my pockets, my amazing daughter being held by my blood brother Luke. The nurse from the other day waves me over. "I need to cast your hand." I pull it out. It does hurt like a bitch. "I can't believe it." I say. She laughs. "Labor pain is horrible. Apparently one of the worst pains there is." "What about getting kicked in the balls. Now that hurts." I say as she puts the cast on my hand. "No comment." She says, rolling her eyes. I walk back out to the guys. Now mama was holding Ali. She had tears in her eyes. "I'm a grandma." I saw her mouth. I walk over and hug her. "I'm so happy mom." "You're gonna make a wonderful father, Jason." Dad says, patting my shoulder. "Thanks."

*a few days later*

"Welcome home Ali!" I exclaim excitedly. Miranda laughs behind me. I set the diaper bag down as she held Ali. Kasi was talking to mom and dad and Miranda's parents out front. I walk to the door. "Hey dad, I need help painting the nursery and the guys are busy. Why don't you and Mr. Brown help me." Her dad laughs. "Just call me Chris." We go paint the nursery.

Miranda's pov

"Hey mama, I'm... I need some advice. Should I breastfeed or bottle feed?" "Breastfeed, Miranda. It's much healthier for Ali." I bite my lip, worried about all the ridicule. But then I think. Who gives a damn. It's my body, my baby, my rules! I smile and rock Alison. "I love you so much little girl." She made some noises and yawned. She's so cute!!

*later*

"Since the paint's still got to dry, I don't want her sleeping in there tonight." Jason says walking in our room where I was breastfeeding Alison. Jason had paint splotches on him. I laugh. "What happened?" "I was on a ladder and when I climbed down the bucket of paint fell off the ladder and spilled onto me and your dad." I laugh. "Well go wash up silly boy." He smiles and gets in the shower.

Jason's pov

After I get out of the shower, Miranda asks if I want to hold her which of course I do! I gladly hold my angel while Miranda takes a nice much deserving relaxing bath. I sing to my little baby and once she falls asleep I put her in the bassinet beside our bed. I walk into the bathroom. "Hey." "Hey. Sorry about your hand." "Don't sweat it babe." I say sitting on the ground beside the tub. She sighs tiredly. "I could fall asleep right now." "I'd rather you slept in the bed." I try to joke. She puts her wet hand on my head. "I am so glad she's finally here." "Me too, baby." I say sighing in happiness and closing my eyes. "Hey Jason?" "Yeah?" "What if..." I glance back at her. She looks worried. "What if I'm not a good mother?" "Nonsense baby! You're gonna be a great mother!" I gasp, turning around and getting to my knees beside the tub. She stares at me worried still. I hold her hand. "You're gonna be the best mother out there and there's no one I'd rather have a baby with. Youre my whole world." I kiss her hand. "I love you." "I love you too, Jay." She gets out of the tub and we go to bed.

*later*

I wake up hearing soft murmuring. I look up to see Miranda breastfeeding Ali again and whispering to her with a smile. She looks so natural. It's so cool. I smile as I watch her. "You don't know it now but you make mommy and daddy so happy." She whispers to her. I don't think she knows I'm awake. "And one day, you'll make daddy wanna kill someone." Huh? "Don't grow up too fast, my perfect little baby." I think she's talking about when Alison finds a boy. Ugh. That seethes me right now!!! To imagine my baby girl, a boy taking her away. I smile sadly. "I'll be ready come time." I whisper to myself, turning on my side and draping an arm across my wife and daughter. She chuckles. "Aww daddy's probably dreaming about you." I'm not even asleep. It's so cute seeing Miranda be like this. I love it and I'm so glad I woke up to witness it.
