Jason's pov
I get out of soundcheck and was calling to Mike about stuff when a water balloon explodes on my chest! I sigh and shake my guitar. Girlfriend three Jason zero! Luke and said girl walk over laughing. "When will the pranks end?" She gasps dramatically. "Real funny princess." I say smirking. She always hated to be called princess. She narrows her eyes. "Just for that, I'm gonna make sure you're scared to go to bed tonight." I smile.
Miranda's pov
"I already am, hun." Huh? "What? Why?" He walks over a big smile on his face and hugs me tight. "Because I'm afraid I'll wake up from this amazing dream come true." "Oh Jason!" I gasp. He's such a romantic. He kisses me and I slip my hands around his neck, the kiss deepening and my fingers tangling in his hair. His hat falling off.
*later*
A deep sigh escapes me. "Jason, don't ever leave me again." I whisper, lacing my fingers with his. "Never baby girl. You're gonna be mine forever." He whispers, kissing my head which rests against his chest. "What happened to you after I ditched town?" He asks. I sit up. After he stopped wanting to be friends he completely skipped town and apparently came to Nashville. I wish he didn't leave. "I was depressed for a while. But Luke and Mark kept me going. It was hard though Jason." He stares up at me sadly. "Baby I'm so sorry I left you. It wasn't easy. You haunted my dreams at night. I never stopped thinkin' about you." I smile. "So since fifth grade?" I ask. His eyes go wide. "Damn I'm gonna kick Luke's butt." "Aww it's cute to imagine your little fifth grade self having a crush on little ol me." He smirks. "Always have. Always will." He says, sitting up and kissing me. "You still know your sick tricks on that skateboard?" He laughs. "Baby girl, I haven't boarded in five years."
*later*
I catch a baseball that Jason threw. Then Mike calls him. He sighs. "Gotta go hun. The show's about to start." I lower the ball and walk over. "Good luck kiss?" I ask. "I'd love that." I kiss him and he grabs his guitar and gets onstage.
*a few days later*
We get to Nashville and I hear a dog bark. He laughs when I jump in surprise. I glare at him and get a zip tie and hook it to his belt loop then to the front door handle. He starts to walk then is pulled back. "What the?!" He struggles to turn around and I bust out laughing. "I ziptied you." He rolls his eyes and pulls out his pocketknife. "Man you were always such a damned prankster." I nod and cross my arms. The dog, a bulldog runs in the room as he cuts the zip tie. The dog flinches when he sees the knife. My eyes go wide. "What's wrong with him?" He sighs and pockets it. "He was abused before I got him. His name's Athens by the way." I get on my knees. "Hey Athens. It's okay boy." He smiles.
Jason's pov
Athens walks over to her. "Poor thing." She whispers. I love this girl so much. It's so good to finally have told her. "I regret skippin' town now really bad." I say, sitting beside her. Athens lays his head in my lap. "Maybe you should come back home. See what ya missed." I'd really like that actually. "Yeah. Definitely check out the old hangouts." I stand back up and go to the kitchen. "Hey babe ya want a beer?" "I'm a shot for shot girl." She calls back. I got whiskey. I grab a beer for me and a bottle of Jack Daniels. "You'll never beat me in shots." She says smirking wickedly. Damn her! She knows I can't turn down a challenge. "You're barkin' up the wrong tree. I'm super competitive." She pours a shot. "Well competition will lose today." I roll my eyes and crack open my beer. "I'd take you up on shots but...." I let my voice trail off and grip her hand and kiss her. Her hand rests against my chest. The shot glass falls from her other hand. "Hey hun, I'd beat ya in shots." I whisper. "Bullshit." She says, standing up. "I calleth bullshit!" I laugh hysterically on the floor. She takes a shot. "Your turn." She hands me the bottle. Ugh I'm gonna get wasted tonight.
