Jason's pov
"Hey Jay I need a diaper!" Miranda calls from the nursery. "On it!" I call back, walking downstairs. I grab one and bring it to her. She changes her diaper. "I'm gonna go out with some friends. Think you can handle her?" I smile and nod. I love being a dad. It's awesome. "Thanks Jay, love you." She says, kissing my cheek. "Love you too baby." I say, picking Ali up. Miranda goes to get ready and I take her downstairs.
Miranda's pov
I head out with my best friends, Sierra and Rachel. We were at the iconic Tootsie's orchid lounge. We clink glasses together. "Girls night!" "Oh my gosh! Miranda?!" I turn around confused and almost fall out of my chair in shock. "Mark!" I gasp, walking over. He waves. "Wow. Good to see you again." I blush and nod. "So how is everything?" "Great." I mumble. "I.... Me and Jason got married... We've got a little girl now and she's four weeks old." He smiles. "Wow. I bet you love being a mother." I blush and nod. "It's the best feeling in the world." "Can I see a picture of the baby?" I smile and nod, pulling out my phone. "So how's life with you?" "Believe it or not but I have a girl of my own!" I smile gladly. "I'm so happy for you." "Her name's Amy. She's real sweet." We go on talking the night away. I sure have missed this funny guy. I get home really late. Jason's asleep on the couch with Ali on his chest. I smile and scoop my baby girl up. She makes some cute noises but doesn't wake up. I put her in her crib and wake Jason. "Hey. How was girl's night?" "It was good." We go to our room. "I uh... I ran into an old friend." I say, as he changes into more comfortable night clothes. "Who?" I bite my lip, not sure how he'll react. "Mark." He freezes, eyes widening and drops the shirt. "M-Mark?" I nod worriedly. "We were just talking as friends. He's got a girlfriend now." He takes a deep breath. "You've got nothing to worry about, Jason." "I.. I know. I just... It caught me off guard." "Ok. I was just worried. I know how jealous you can get." He smiles tiredly. "I'm not jealous of Mark. I'm possessive of my girl." I laugh. "Possessive of me?" He nods. He sits on the bed. "I'm not telling you what to do by any means. Lord knows I couldn't if I tried but... I'd prefer you to stay away from him." I sigh. He says he isn't jealous! I sit beside him. I see where he's coming from though. "I promise Jason, I will never love him more than you." He smiles. "I know." We share a hug. "You make me so happy." I whisper gladly wrapped in my best friend's arms. "I'm so lucky to be married to not only to the love of my life but... To make it better, my best friend too." He smiles and we share a kiss. "I love you, Miranda." "I love you too, Jason." Suddenly I hear Ali wake up and she doesn't sound happy. I laugh softly and kiss my husband again. "Duty calls." I say, standing up. I walk into her nursery and scoop the crying baby up. I take her back to my room. I understand his worry. I was almost married to the other man for God sakes. I missed Mark but I won't hang out with him and risk making Jason stressed and upset. "You look amazing when you do that." Jason whispers, smiling. "Do what?" I ask. "When you breastfeed Ali. You're so cool." I laugh. "Thanks Jay. You're so silly."
*later*
"I'm sorry if I seem jealous about this whole Mark thing." Jason whispers. I shake my head. "I understand fully Jason. And I won't hang out with him if you've got a problem with it. I just want you to know nothing in this world will ever change my mind. I'll always love you, Jason." He smiles. "I love you too. I always have and I always will. I.. If you want to hang out with Mark, you can. I don't want to control you like that." "You're not controlling me." I say, smiling. I kiss him gently. "Lord knows you couldn't even if you tried." He laughs and smiles softly. "Life with you makes perfect sense." He whispers. "And I ain't just quotin' song lyrics. It's the truth." I smile. "You're my best friend." I whisper, gladly.
