The End. Or is it?

'The full moon's song
Awakes death,
The living will morn
Creatures look on,
What will be betted upon?'

His voice was calm. Collected. Anyone would've thought he was in his right mind too. If it wasn't for the words he used and the expression of emptiness on his face.

Toney stood gazing out of the window. He was in Mario's room. A place he would have previously never stepped foot in.

He gazed at everything, yet nothing in particular caught his interest.
Only the disappearing sunlight from the horizon, seemed to be of some importance to him.
As if it told a secret between the two of them.

"Yeah *cough* you're a real poet sir, now can you please let me go?...." Mario chocked out in a dry voice.
Not quite on purpose. But it added to the effect, that he wasn't too pleased.
Half beaten to death, and tied up with metal chains to his own desk chair.

The bruises on his face, chest and arms were taking longer to heal. Due to both his tiredness and lack of energy, along with the mental awearness that the faster his wounds healed. The quicker Toney would inflict another one.

For two days now he had been tortured. But he still had no intentions of telling Toney what he wanted to know.
That being the location of......

"Of cause I'll let you go. As soon as you tell me where my son is!"

Toney roared with irritation. What little patience he had was now being pushed to the edge.

Of cause it was a lie.
Toney wasn't the all to caring father type. He never cared so deeply about his son.
His true intentions were the location of Richard's new pack.
But Mario wasn't gonna give it to him.

Knowing that he could no longer hide his pain behind a smirk, he started chuckling.
He knew full well what would happen to him, but knowing that he would be doing it for his belief, he felt free.

Three days ago, the day after Aiya was taken.
He was walking around the perimeter as a day guard.

Since it wasn't his shift yet, he had some free time.

The only thing on his mind was Aiylatan. She may have been a smartass at times, but he owed her farther his life and would no sooner give his to save her.

The day Mario met Richard was one he would never forget.

The Italian wolf gangs ten years ago were at war with each other, for something as stupid as over territory.
Just remembering caused him to clench his fist.

Mario was just nine at the time when his pack, being a small and non-violent group, was completely and utterly annialated by the biggest and strongest at the time.
Luna Remare.
Which translated to 'Moon Skull' in English.

Entrambi i miei genitori erano morti.

Had it not been for Richard's help the few survivors of my pack, being a few children and women. They would have, without a doubt, been sent off as slaves.

Richard was able to stop the Luna Remare and rescue us.
He came into their territory with a small group of his best hunters by his side. That was the first time I had seen anyone like him. Not only were they out numbered but they had a look on their faces as though they had already won.

The way he fought, his unmatched strength even against the pack's alpha, I was in complete awe.

The others who were rescued simply chose to go back to whatever remained of their packs.

I however pleaded to Richard to let me join his pack. I wanted to pledge loyalty to him. And I did.

If I had not caught Aaron packing when he came home from ditching school, I would have never seen 'my alpha' again. Before he could have been bothered to be stopped or questioned.
A shadow appeared. Almost as though I were dreaming.

They left faster than they came, with a human in their company.

It was something that didn't need to be explained to him, he knew no matter what torture he went through he had to protect their location. This secret was necessary to save Aiylatan's life, and if that meant the sacrifice of his own, then so be it.

Although there wasn't a word shared between them. There was an unspoken understanding. One that he would give his life to keep.
Finding them would be easy for him, his tracking skills were second to only Richard's and Aiylatan's. He knew however in that silence two things reigned true. Something big was about to happen and there was no stopping it.

"Fine well I guess it had to come to this .... I never liked you." Toney spoke while lifting a gun to Mario's head.

"Goodbye fake Alpha." Mario said smiling, with closed eyes, as he awaited the bullet to enter him.

Toney's lip twitched upon hearing the words fake alpha and seeing the content grin on Mario's face.

"You know what I have a better idea....." Toney paused "..you're going to do a little errand for me." He was the one smiling now.

Mario could tell from the look in his eyes that whatever it was, he is he was planning was in no way a good idea for anyone, including himself.

He could only hope whatever it was Toney wanted him to do, that he had the guts to follow through with it, if it meant everyone's safety.

"My dear boy, don't look so alarmed. It only gives me mo're pleasure." Toney smiled wickedly.

"Ever heard of the term 'witch'"
Toney added with a joking tone. But anyone could tell from the look in his eyes he was serious.

"Yes. But didn't all the witches die out, a long time ago?" I questioned

My wounds had begun healing on their own. And I could feel my shoulders tense up in preparation for the next wound to be inflicted.
To my relief there was no lash and no new wound.

"Ah, but that's precisely why I asked." Toney said smiling again.

"I don't follow."

"You wouldn't."

I shot him a piercing gaze.
He simply continued on with his explanation. Ignoring me.

"Witches may have gone extinct but what about their children. More precisely what of the boys."
He said his smile broadened.

"Witches were forbidden to have males."

"Ah, but a dieing race would turn to any measure, no matter the consequences." Toney said completely enjoying himself right now.

I wasn't going to bother to waste anymore time with his crazy ramblings.

"What would you have me do?"

"The only thing 'you' can."

I can yeah like anyone can revive an entire dead race.
Regardless this is true or not how does he plan to us the power of magic? Does he truly believe he can control it?
Or has Richard's return made him desperate.

Pray for us all Aiylatan, wherever you are.
