I put my hand over the picture Archie was holding in front of me. I didn't want this to be real, but it was already to real. My first thoughts were, that Archie's gone mental, and totally lost the plot. I though that he was one of those guys, who really want to be a spy in real life, of course, spy's were only in movies, so how could this be so?
"Erm, Archie?" I asked as I placed the picture into the old brown shoe box, that looked like it was way past its sell by date.
"Yes?" He mumbled, hardly looking up as he tapped away at his phone.
"Is this something like spy's? Because no offence, but it's kind of pathetic..." I said. I'ld almost been persuaded, bud suddenly a horrible feeling overwhelmed me, it sounded like he really was a spy wanna-be. The only time I've actually heard of spy's in reality is on the news, and even then it feel's stupid.
"You what?" Archie looked up from his phone screen, and pulled a disgraced face." Hell no! This ain't no spy lark, this is something serious, we ain't being spy'slover''re trying to find this out." He said crossly.
"Oh?" I sighed "It sound's like kids stuff, like it's not real." I said, nodding along to everything.
"Look. It's not kid's stuff, okay?" He said coming over, he rested his palms on my shoulders.
"Yes, Okay." I gave-in.
"Now, listen. You can't tell nobody, we can't risk the police finding out, Its between us, and the others, Okay?"
"W-wait! The others? Who are they?" I questioned him. I'd heard a bit about them before, but I didn't really know who they were.
"Oh," he sighed "well, there's Tyler, he's kind of the leader, then there's Liam and of course Megan." He said wiggling his fingers on his desk.
"Err, do they know who I am?" I asked. It felt strange talking about these people I didn't even know.
"They know about my girlfriend but not her name, and err... Jade?" He said awkwardly.
"Yes?" I asked as some butterflies flapped about in my stomach, what was he going to ask?
"Well, you see they use fake names, so they aren't really called Tyler, Liam and Megan, so do you think you could pretend Jade is a fake name, it will make it a bit easier, if you know what I mean?" He said running his hands through his hair, he looked quite uncomfortable.
"Yes, I guess... So, what will I call you?" I asked, frowning slightly.
" just Archie, pretend that's my fake name too, okay?" He asked as he got off his bed and walked across the room.
"Okay." I nodded. "Archie?" I added.
"What?" He said, he didn't even turn around to face me.
"Oh, well I was wondering, when actually is this taking place? And where abouts do we start?" I asked confused.
"It is in the new year, and we collect the first nefix just down the road, but erm... The rest are really far away from home..." He said as he surfed through a massive folder full of different paper sheets.
"So tell me again, what are nefix's again?" I asked desperately trying to get him to cone back, and wipe that cross look of his beautiful face.
"Jade! Hell, I already told you, It is just these things we need to collect in order to get into the hidden floors." He almost yelled, his voice was getting louder and crosser.
"Oh, you said its far away from home...?" I dared to say, I didn't even have to ask a question that made sense, Archie already knew what I asked.
"We are going to have to....run away, okay? And Tyler can drive..." Archie really was yelling now. He slammed the folder shut and turned around, his face was all red.
" okay, okay! Archie what the hell is up? You seem so damn cross!" I raised my voice, so Archie knew not to mess with me at that point.
" AW, for hell's sake, this is serious okay? I'm really worried, we've got to play our cards safely, one mistake and bang! Our chance is over, you can't just play around, we are really serious, I don't think you understand, you seem to act just like a little kid! This is real life not a game!" He yelled at me, his face getting redder by the second, I saw some little veins bulging on his forehead.
" me a little kid? I think that's you! Why don't you just grow up?" I fired back crossly.
" you know what, Jade? Sometimes you can be a right bitch, you knows that?" Archie folded his arms "I think you should go now!" he said pointing at the door. I wasn't going anywhere!
I sat on his bed after he turned around and sat on the seat next to his desk. Silence filled the room, all I could hear was a clock somewhere ticking along. Eventually I broke the silence.
"Archie, I'm really sorry! I promise i wont be a little kid bitch girlfriend thing, please i love you!" I cried. What the hell was I raving on about? It must have worked because he turned around.
"I'm so sorry too, Jade I love you, you know I'm just frustrated, you're my everything" he said rushing over to the bed, he sat next to me. I smiled and I was about to speak, but then there was a noise that stopped me. It sounded like footsteps, they were quite frequent, so I guessed there person was in a hurry. The door flung open, and Lia poked her head around the door. We pulled apart.
"What's going on? Is everyone okay? I heard shouting!" She said worriedly biting her lip.
"Everything's fine, mum. You can go away now!" Archie said getting off his bed and trying to shut the door. Lia moved out of the way.
"Oh, okay honey. Be good. See you Jade!" She managed to fit in a little wave before she vanished behind the door.
Archie turned around and smiled at me. He walked over. " I'm sure you can help me feel better." Archie said as he pulled me off the bed. Our bodies pressed together.
"Me too, I'll make you better. We can worry about all this tomorrow, after all, tomorrow's just another day." I smiled as I rubbed my nose on his, and we began the biggest kiss that's probably ever existed.

That's because Lakeside Mansion - Broken will be the sequel, where these answers will be discovered, and many more freaky things will hop in the way of Jades life at Lakeside.***
