**Jamie's pov**
What is Ben doing here?
Before I went into rehab, I had a boyfriend - Ben - and we had started off as best friends. Only for me to find out that he made a bet with some other friends, about dating me for a year. Not only that but turns out he cheated on me through the full 2 and a half years we were together.
It had been the night my parents found out I had stoped eating and I had ran away to the person I thought was there for me. Only to find him in bed with two girls, one being a close friend of mine and the other his new stepmom.
He didn't even care when he saw me, he just carried on. Stared me right in the eyes and then I went to rehab, thinking I would never see him again. Now here we are.
"You two know each other? That's great." Helen said, enthusiastically.
"I'm sorry, I can't be here. I have to go." I say quickly leaving the room.
"Jamie!" I hear yelled from the kitchen.
Then someone grabs my arm and I instantly yank it out of their grasp, turning to find a hurt looking Jace.
"I'm sorry." I whisper.
"Jamie why did you leave?" He asks.
"I can't be in the same room as Ben." I whisper.
Your probably wondering why I didn't recognise his dad or sister. Well it's because Chuck was always out drinking or working and Bella was the result of a one night stand, that I found out about once I was half way through rehab.
"What do you mean, why can't you be in the same room as Ben?" He asks quietly, whilst slowly walking towards me and taking my hands.
"Bens an old friend of mine. Well ex- best friend. Who I dated at one point in my life and he cheated on me, with a friend of mine and his step-mum at the time." I say, looking down.
"What? I'm going to kill him!" Jace exclaims, quickly letting go of my hands and storming into the dining room.
"Jace no!" I say going after him, but it was too late. By the time I reached the dining room, Ben was against a wall, with Jace holding him a foot off the ground, by his shirt collar.
Helen was stood by her seat shouting at Jace to let him down. Chuck was holding a crying Bella in the corner of the room trying to calm her down. And Linda was also yelling, with a confused Alicia sat beside her in a high chair.
"Jace he's not worth it!" I yell. "It was over 2 years ago now."
"I don't care no one hurts my girl. It could be something from when you were 3 - that you remember - where someone took your favourite teddy and I will still hold a grudge." He growls, shoving Ben against the wall again,
"Jace just let him go. We will sort this later, when the children aren't around. Ok?" I say gently, slowly putting my hand onto his arm. "I would like nothing more for you to beat this prick to a pulp. But not when Alicia and Bella are in the room."
"Fine." He says in a gruff voice, before turning back to Ben. "You better be thankful that she just saved your ass or else you would be six feet under." Roughly releasing him, Ben drops to the floor breathing heavily.
Over dramatic.
Helen rushes over and lifts him off the floor checking him, before letting go and glaring at Jace.
"What do you have to say for yourself young man?" She questions sternly.
"Nothing. He deserved it." Jace shrugs, still angry with me holding his arm.
