I smiled and nodded, feeling my face heat up and my palms get sweaty. Just my luck. I was planning on never seeing him again after I embarrassed myself in front of him at the cafe. And he recognized me. That means he remembered how terrible I was at communicating or doing anything at the coffee shop.

He averted his eyes. Great. He was probably feeling the awkwardness all over again and regretting coming over here to compliment me. "Um... I know you're shy and stuff but... I was wondering if we could hang out sometime. I would've asked you at the coffee shop, but I didn't wanna freak you out." He gave a nervous smile.

My eyes widened until I thought they would pop out. I couldn't "hang out" with anyone. Especially this very attractive guy. I suddenly realized I had shaken my head no. I tried to think of a way to decline without being rude, but every way I thought of required words to come out of my mouth. I decided to try one. "I-I don't re-re... real-ly," I inhaled sharply.

I couldn't do this. How was I supposed to hang out with him if I couldn't even say one sentence to him. I didn't want to hang out with him anyways. I didn't want to hang out with anyone. It was just Marls and me for life. That's how I wanted it to be.

"How about... a movie? That doesn't involve talking." He smiled. "I'll pay."

Why was he doing this. What was so great about me? I just stood there like a weirdo, looking at him.

"Say two weeks from today? I'm busy next week, but the Saturday after that I can pick you up and we can catch a movie."

I just nodded. He was being too nice for me to turn him down and I didn't know how to turn him down. He grinned and held out his hand. "I'll put my number in your phone so I can find out when and where to pick you up. Don't worry you don't have to call, just text."

Oh my gosh he was so nice. He didn't even know me, yet he knew so much about me. Enough to know how scared I was. I fumbled my phone out of my bag and handed it to him. He typed in his number and handed it back to me, waving and walking off. "See you then!"

I looked down to see what he put his contact as. Jay🙃. That was cute. I decided to leave it. I turned off my phone and smiled, leaning against the door. Suddenly I heard a click and the door pushed against my back and I fell forward blushing profusely. The woman walking through the door gave me a questioning look, but she just walked passed me.

I shook myself drawing myself out of my daze. What was I even doing? I exhaled heavily and walked through the door, sitting in the first seat I saw. I settled back to watch the dancing. After two girls went someone walked through the door, letting in a crack of light. I didn't look back to see who it was. I just kept my eyes focused on the next dancer.

However, a second later I sensed someone standing right next to me. They cleared their throat. I glanced up and saw the woman from a couple minutes ago. I could barely see her in the darkness, but I could tell that she raised her eyebrows. I looked at her confusedly.

"That's my seat," she said as if it was obvious.

I got up quickly, embarrassed. Maybe sitting in the audience wasn't the best idea. I walked quickly out the door, being as quiet as I could, and went back to the dance room to wait. I sat down and leaned my head against the wall, closing my eyes. After a couple minutes I heard the door creak open.

I looked up and Miss Nina skipped into the room. "Time for them to announce the winners!" she exclaimed perkily.

My mouth fell open. It was time all ready? I took a deep breath and got up off the floor. It was time.
