*4 and a half months later*
I slowly woke up looked at the clock, then groaned. It was 3:00 in the morning. I had been having trouble sleeping with my humongous stomach. I poked at it gently. "Come on little baby," I whispered. Almost as soon as I said the words, I knew it was time. I started freaking out. I didn't know what to do, I'd never done this before! I shook Jay awake.
"What what's wrong?" He said, jolting upright in bed.
"Its time. The baby's coming!"
"Oh my god. Um... one second." Jayden jumped out of bed and ran from the room. Minutes later he came rushing back in, completely dressed, keys in hand. He helped me to the car and started driving to the hospital. He rushed me inside, well, as fast as I could be rushed, and went to the front desk.
"My wife is having a baby," He said urgently.
"Alright, one minute," the woman there replied. Soon enough I was lying in a hospital bed, squeezing the life out of Jayden's hand.
Finally he got tired of it and said gently, "Princess, you're hurting me."
"I'm scared," I sobbed. I had never done this before and I didn't know what to expect. I had been in labor for quite awhile now and I was ready to be done.
"Shhh it'll be just fine." I could feel the baby coming and I squeezed his hand harder.
"You're gonna have to push," the doctor said.
I pushed, breathing hard.
"That's it you're doing great. Just a couple more."
After a couple pushes I knew I was almost done. I screamed and gave one more big push.
"That's it! Congratulations you two, it's a beautiful baby girl! Do you have a name in mind?"
Jayden looked at me. "Paisley?" He asked. I shook my head and he frowned. The doctor handed me our baby girl and I looked at her little face. She was everything I could've wished for and more.
"Jinni?" I asked. Jayden didn't reply for a couple minutes so I looked up at him. Tears were streaming silently down his face. He nodded and I smiled softly at him. "She's perfect," I said, "just like how I imagine your sister was."
"Thank you. Thank you so much," he whispered, his voice clear and calm despite the tears. He grabbed my hand and I squeezed it, gently this time. "Can I hold her?"
I handed her up to him carefully. "Hey baby girl. My Jinni," he said softly. I had been so scared at the beginning of this, but it had been one of the best days I'd ever had. I had gotten a little baby girl and I had made my husband happy and that was all I could ask for. A happy family.
Suddenly the door burst open and my mom came rushing in, hair disheveled. "Oh my god I'm so sorry I was asleep and I didn't hear my phone and I got here as quick as I could once I heard your message has the baby been born is it a boy or girl did you name it yet wha—"
I interrupted her before she give me a headache. "Mom everything's fine. The baby is a girl and we named her Jinni. Jay has her," I said. She whipped around and looked at Jayden. I realized she was still in her pajamas and she only had one shoe and I smiled. She wasn't even the one having a baby and she was probably more frantic than I had been. I almost cried happy tears at how much she cared about this. I watched Jayden handing Mom the baby and how she held her so gently and whispered to her. At that moment I couldn't imagine her ever siding with my dad and giving up on me because I could see that she was the best, most caring mom ever. Life was good. It couldn't be better.
