Whatever it was it started chasing me down the road. Although its body looked human its face was twisted and ugly. Blood dripped from its mouth as its razor sharp teeth dug into the lips, it wobbled on its feet as it accustomed to the harsh feeling of the ground on its bare feet. I kept going as fast as I could but the weight of my bag slowed me down. He was catching up almost snarling like a wild animal, fear overcame me and in a brief moment everything froze as I was taken off my feet by a tiny stone in the wrong place at the wrong time, under my feet while I was being threatened. Great!
My face hit the ground, hard, and I skidded along the tarmac grating the skin of my cheek reopening old wounds. I winced in pain and tears fell down onto the ground beneath me. Misty-eyed but a disfigured blur was all I could see hobbling towards me and that's when I started sobbing and closed my eyes to accept my fate.Nothing...
I lay there not daring to move or open my eyes but still sobbing as all around me everything seems to go quiet except the distant fires roaring. After around five minutes I decided it was time, the pain in my cheek was getting worse and I know I needed it to be treated. I opened my eyes and not seeing 'him', got up. I instantly regretted it.
