Chapter Six: Turns Out I’m Cursed...

Annabeth’s POV

I walk first to the Athena cabin. Most of the people I went to camp with already moved on or died in the war. Most of the adult demigods lived in New York though and Chiron sent out a distress call to them. Clarisse, Malcolm, the Stolls, Will, Katie, and a few others were coming now. Percy was a few minutes away from camp right now and driving as fast as he could with Frank and Hazel. Wherever I go people stare at me and whisper. I finally came to the familiar blue and gold building where I lived more than half my life. It took me a millisecond before I walk into the cabin. It is just how I remembered it! Beds pushed against the wall with blueprints and battle maps plastered all over. There are only about four other kids in here right now and they were huddled in the corner over some map. One of them happens to look up and see me. She nudges the others and when they see me they drop the pencils in their hands. They all look like me with blonde curly hair and grey eyes. The oldest of them quickly composes himself and walks over and says,

“Hello, I am Ben, welcome back to Athena cabin Annabeth.” I smile and shake his hand. I felt like I have met him before, he probably came about the time me and Percy moved out.

“Who is she?” A little girl about nine years old from the group asks. The older girl who saw me first shushes her. I smile at the girl and she smiles broadly back. I turn back to Ben and say,

“I’m sorry for just barging in, I’m visiting with my daughter and I wanted to come see my old home.”

“Oh no apologies please! This is still your home, you are welcome anytime!” I smile and shake his hand one last time before telling him,

“I should get going now. Thank you, I will see you all at dinner!” I wave to the group of my siblings and walk out the door.

I decide to go back to the Big House to see if Percy is back. I walk by the Artemis, Aphrodite, Dionysus, and a few of the minor goddess cabins. The Aphrodite girls were sitting on their porch doing their nails and gossiping. Lacey waved to me and I waved back, so she must have stayed here after all this time. Eventually I get to the Big House and I can see the curly chocolate colored hair of Hazel. I break out into a run and soon I can see Percy talking to Chiron, “PERCY!” I yell. He looks over and me and cracks his adorable smile. He is about to say something but I jump onto him wrapping my legs around his waist. He hugs me back and buries his hair in my blonde hair.

“Wise girl, I’ve missed you.”

“I missed you too.” I say breathlessly. “Marissa though, we need to tell her the truth.” He gives me a soft kiss and replies,

“I know we do but I’m not sure how.”

“We have to try, I promised we would tell her before dinner now lets go. She is in the Poseidon cabin right now.” He grins and says,

“Let’s go then.”

Percy’s POV

My limbs are sore from the fight with the Lamiae. Later after I killed the one Lamia that threatened Marissa, we were ambushed by four more. I hadn’t even slightly relaxed since Marissa called me and told me she and Annabeth were fine. We walked hand in hand to my old cabin. From what I’ve heard I only have 2 sister, one of which is about eleven years old. She was living with her parents right now for school. The other one, Parker lived here as a counselor and is only about 5 years younger than me. She came to Camp during the war with Gaea and visited us when we first had Marissa but slowly stopped because of work and our choice to try and keep Marissa from the demigod life style. Right now she was out and about killing monsters and being an ambassador for CHB. The Hades cabin had gotten two new demigods, both girls, and Zeus cabin had gotten about five new demigods, surprise surprise! We finally came to the familiar stone cabin and I could already tell that Rissa was sleeping inside. It was way too peaceful, until a horrible scream pierced the air. Annabeth and I paled and ran through the doors shouting Marissa's name. We saw Marissa sleeping on the bed in a fetal position and then she screamed again.
