I woke up to the sound of guns going off. I got up, checking for my knife , but it was not in my knife holder. I went outside the cell and looked over the railing. No one.

I hurried down the stairs and looked at my surroundings. Nothing that I could use as a weapon.

I heard a clanging behind me and saw the older woman setting out some paper bowls and cups.

"Hey, how'd you sleep?" she asked not looking up at me.

"Best I have in days. Hey um, where is the rest of the group?"

"They're outside, putting out some walkers that crowded over night."

Walkers. Thats what they called them.

"What about my knife?"

"Oh, yeah- I went up to check on you and i was afraid you would accidentally stab yourself, so I grabbed it, sorry." She moved over to were a bunch of cans were and got my knife.

"It's okay, you were just worried. Thanks."

She handed me my knife and I put it back in the holder.

When she was done putting out all the paper plates and cups , she headed over to a corner where a window was, and the suns rays shone through. She had placed a pot with aluminum foil around it so the rays bounced into the pot.

Smart.

She picked up the pot, struggling a little and I finally realized how stupid I must look, just standing there watching her work without offering help.

"Want some help?"

I headed towards the pot ,not really giving her a chance to answer.

I lifted the pot and placed it on the metal table.

"I'm Carol by the way, and thanks for the help."

Carol ripped the aluminum foil from the pot, and I peeked inside.

Not cooked perfectly , but cooked enough.

Noodles.

Carol got a big spoon and scooped some noodles into each paper bowl.

She looked at me then back at the bowls."Can you tell the rest of the group that lunch is ready?"

I nodded and headed outside.

Everyone but Carl were sticking a sort of weapon up a walker's dead brain.

I walked until I was close to them.

"Carol said breakfast was ready."

"Good,im starving."

"Let's go."

"Yeah, we've killed most of the walkers."

The man with the curly hair patted me on the shoulder. "Thanks- Will you tell Carl too? He's up in the tower."

"Sure," I stuttered.

They all headed inside. I walked up to the nearest tower and climbed up the stairs. When I got to the top I saw Carl with a riffle aimed at the walkers. Just incase the fence fell over I guess.

I opened the door and he turned around , alarmed.

I looked at the ground.

"Umm. Car-Carol said that breakfast is ready."

"Who's gonna take guard?"

"I don't know..."

Carl nodded and threw the riffle over his shoulder. He opened the door and headed down. I followed behind him. My stomach grumbled, it echoed.

Stomach, not right now.

Carl had reached the bottom and looked up to me.

He smirked and opened the bottom door.
