I heard a car coming. Daryl and Rick were back from the run. That was fast.

I went outside and sure enough, the two men came with bags on their hands and a backpack on their backs.

"We're back." Rick called.

"I can see that." I said jokingly.

They went inside and I followed. They set the bags they had on the table. I looked to my right and Carol was outside her cell making her way towards the bags.

"Y'all went on a run?" Carol asked.

Daryl spoke with a bit of annoyance in his voice."Yeah, can you get the stuff out the bags?"

Carol nodded and I went and helped her.

"Meslie, here." Daryl handed me a book. "I figured you liked to read since you had a book on your back when I first saved you."

A book? On my back? What was he talking about?

Although I had no idea, I did love to read.

"Thanks. I'll read it." I grabbed the book and I noticed, this book was familiar. Ah- my favorite book. The fault in our stars. I kind of squealed of excitement. I absolutely loved this book. I looked up and saw Rick looking at me. He shook his head but he was laughing. Daryl had a smile on his face too, they loved making fun of me.

After I helped Carol get all the supplies out the bags I went outside with Rick to practice shooting. Rick had placed bottles on what looked like a wooden table.

"Alright, here." He handed me a gun. The safety was off. I aimed the gun at the bottles, they were a few yards away. I pulled the trigger- I missed by a few inches.

Rick aimed his gun and shot a bottle off the table.

"Try again" he said.

I aimed again, trying my best to focus on the bottle.

You can do this, come on.

I pulled the trigger.

Glass hit the floor.
