The Ties That Bind

    I am a Vampire. Now that my brother is back, you could probably guess that he is one, too. He doesn't try to hide it. Its getting harder and harder to keep my secret. There are times where I wanna tell Isla, but I know that if I do, that will be the end of the road for me, and as strange as it is, for Sam, too. I know Jason, you care about him?! As strange as it is, he's my brother.                                                 Jason wakes up to hear music blaring downstairs. Confused, he walks downstairs and into the kitchen and sees Sam making breakfast and jamming out. "What's with the music?" he asks. "I am celebrating my first official day back home. I'm having fun. You know, fun, a word used to describe one doing something to make oneself happy, fun." Jason glares at Sam as he smiles. "You're going to be late. I made sure to pack a peanut butter and jelly sandwich just the way you like it, with more peanut butter than jelly. Oh, and I cut the crusts off." Jason glares at Sam and walks away. Sam smiles and turns the music up. As Jason opens the door to leave, he is surprised by a man around the age of thirty in hunting clothes. The man pulls out a gun containing wood bullets laced with vervain (A chemical, highly toxic to Vampires) and shoots Jason in the chest, throws him into his car, and drives away. Sam hears a shatter and walks into the foyer. There, he sees a bullet on the floor, but when he goes to pick it up, he gets burned. "Jason?" he yells. no answer. Sam gets into his car and drives to the high school. He walks into the hallway, "What the heck are you doing here?!" Alexa asks him. "Oh hey little sis!" Sam says. "Little sis?!" Isla asks confused. "Oh- you didn't know? I thought you and Jason told each other everything! Isla, I would like you to meet my little sister, Alexa. Although, I thought Jason would have told you, like he would tell you that he's a-" "Shut up, Sam." Alexa quickly responds. "I am more worried about Alexa not telling me. We have been friends for 3 years, and never did you mention you had brothers! Or even siblings for that matter!" Isla says. "Well hate to leave you on a cliffhanger, but I really need to talk to my sister so if you don't mind." Sam says. "Wha- fine, you guys.. go ahead I will catch up in a few." Alexa responds. Sam then pulls Alexa off to the side, "Seriously? What are you and Jason even doing back here?!" Alexa asks in frustration. "Sorry Lex, but the family reunion will have to wait for later, Jason's missing." Sam responds. 'Well no shocker there, once you came into town, he probably couldn't wait to leave again." Alexa says. "No- I  mean Missing, Missing. I found this in the foyer." Sam takes out the bullet using tweezers, and shows Alexa. Alexa gets burned when she picks it up. "It's laced with vervain, and... it's wood. Someone knows about us, Sam, and they are out to get us. And now, they have Jason." Alexa says in despair. "Which is why I came here. I need help. I would do it on my own, but, It's kind of a two people project." Sam says. "Well..Let's go find our brother."
