Spellbound

The Darkest Place

     Everyone has a dark place. Whether you've traveled there or not, you have one. I went to mine a few years ago. It was more like a dream. Although I knew it was my dark place. Once your there, there's no mistaking it for anything else. As if there were a tour guide, just waiting for you when you got there. Someone there to say, "Welcome, this is your dark place." Sadly, this go around, it wasn't exactly made known.

      "That's new." Sam says surprised to see Isla awake. Isla looks around, then at her hands, "I did it." "Did what exactly?" Alexa asks. "I'm a vampire." She replies. Alexa and Sam both look at each other, concerned. "I'm sorry, what?" Alexa asks again. "You all have always looked down at me as the delicate little human girl. Well guess what, your reign is over. It's my time now." And runs off. "So that's a problem." Sam says. "She planned it. All of it. Somehow, she managed to get vampire blood into her system, then made you angry, knowing you would go all Michael Myers on her, so she would then turn. Great job, you fell right for it." Alexa says. "Oh, so if a little human was in here stabbing you, trying to kill you, you would just let her do it?" "No, but I wouldn't eat her!" Alexa says. "And now, we've got a psycho newbie vampire on the loose." "Get in the car." She says and they begin to drive off. "Something's wrong with her." "She's a vampire." Alexa says. "No, I mean, why did she want to become a vampire. She always talked about how happy being a human made her, she would have never turned all by herself." "So, your saying someone forced her too?" Alexa asks " She just wasn't herself. "She looked at me back there, with only one thing on her mind. To kill me." "Well, you have that effect on girls." Alexa says. "Not her." They continue driving. 

    "We need to find her. I can't trust that she will just come back to us after finally becoming a vampire." Sabine says. "I'll do a location spell. Do you have anything of hers?" "I knew I couldn't trust her, so I took a lock of hair from her this morning." She hands it to Ivy. "lux capillus est mihi locus, autumni." Isla repeats. The blood stays still for a second, but then leads them to Autumn's location. "Let's go." Sabine says.

    "Ugh. Why is nobody picking up?" Caroline dials Isla's number. "Voicemail. Great." She then dials another number. "Oh, Jason, thank God!" She goes to answer the door a few moments later. "What was the emergency you needed to talk to me about? Are you okay?" Jason asks. "Oh yeah, I'm fine. Huge emergency though. Tonight is the annual Blythewood Founders Day Ball, I can't decide which dress to wear, and nobody is picking up their phone." "Okay, seriously? Caroline, when you tell me frantically over the phone saying, Jason. Emergency. Help. I thought you were being attacked by a va- bear or something." He says. "What do you even want me to do?" Sit and judge dress you try on?" "Exactly! See, you know what do!" Jason sighs. "Well, I was supposed to meet up with Sam in a few, but he's not picking up when I try to call him, or answer any of my texts." "So you have plenty of time to help." For the next hour, Jason judges Carolines dresses for her. Until, "Thats the one." He says. "I like it, too! Okay, just going to add one last touch...done!" Caroline says. "You look great, alright, are we done here?" Jason asks. "Fine you can go and do whatever guy-ey things you do. Thanks for your help." Caroline says as she calls Wilson. "Hey are you almost ready? You're still picking me up, right?" "Oh, uh, listen, Caroline, I actually can't make it. My uh- grandma is in the hospital. Yeah, she's, she's not doing too well." "Oh, uh, okay, um I hope your grandma feels better, Wilson." Caroline sighs. Jason sighs, "If it will make you feel better, I will be your date to the founders day ball, or whatever." Jason says. "You don't have to, I know you would rather go and do some guy stuff." Caroline says. "Well, Sam is kinda M.I.A, so my plans are kinda shot for the night. I might as well help you out." "You will?! OMG you are the best! Thank you! But you don't have a tux." "I can find something in my closet." "Oh thank you, Jason!"

     Alexa and Sam are driving when all of the sudden, Autumn crashes onto the windshield. "What the hell?" Alexa asks. They both step out of the car. "Isla, what are you doing?" She throws Alexa onto the ground. "One thing I've learned, is that as a vampire, I am a lot stronger than my old, weak, human self. I can do things like this." And bites Alexa. Alexa then gets up, and throws Autumn down. "Trust me honey, I have been a vampire a long time. I'm much older than you, which means I'm stronger, too." She punches Autumn and continues to fight with her. Autumn then throws Alexa onto the car. "That may be true. But the young are always more flexible." She jumps over Alexa, and stabs her with a wooden steak. Alexa yells in pain. After a moment, she takes it out of her, and gets onto her feet. "I'm not giving up that easily, honey." "You don't have to, I have everything I need." she opens her hand to reveal a small cup containing Alexa's blood. She quickly vamp speeds away, only to have her neck snapped by Sabine. "Not so fast, Autumn." She grabs Autumn, and then disappears. Alexa looks around, "Sam?  Where are you?" Sam then walks out of the convenience store with a slushie and gets into the car. "Shall we continue?" "What is the matter with you? I was almost killed by a psychotic Isla." "But you weren't. I knew you could take her. You are a one hundred year-old vampire. She just turned today." Alexa sighs. "Unbelievable." "Onward!" Sam says. They drive off.
