I sat on the bench as Father Maurice read through the tap conversation. We tried tapping but no new messages were popping up.
"I think I have an idea of what's going on..." Father Maurice handed my phone back to me. "Have you ever heard of Boyce and Boice?"
"No?" I frowned.
"They are two demons that specialize in possessing electronics. It is believed that our lord, Jesus, is the only one who can send them to exile. Which is why his name is uttered as the only prayer during an exorcism. But," He paused. "What is strange, is that anyone – and I mean anyone at all – can summon them back on Earth."
"Are they dangerous? I mean... If they can possess electronics, I think they could hurl a running chainsaw at me or something –" I begin.
"No. No. The part about wanting the possession of your soul and body, that did baffle me. Boyce and Boice aren't dangerous. They wouldn't harm you like that. They are demons, yes. But of mischief, not malice. The only purpose Boyce and Boice serve and plan on serving is corrupting a man so much, that they end up in hell." Father Maurice's expression turned grave. "So, no. It can't be them... There is someone greater at play here. Some other force that can control these demons. Perhaps, the one that summoned them."
"Who do you think summoned them?" I ask slowly.
"Think, Alyssa. A friend? A foe?" He stared at me. "Family?"
"Impossible... Actually... No..." I paused to think. My brother wouldn't know how to summon two demons, would he? He is into pretty weird stuff, you'd never know. "How about Allen? My brother."
"How old is he again?"
"14."
"Not likely then. It takes a large sacrifice to summon such demons. If anything, you need matured blood. Someone older, would have to do." He said to me. It was then, that it dawned on me.
"Oh, god no..." I began.
"What is it?" Father Maurice seemed concerned.
"Oh my god. I'm so stupid. I'm so stupid. This is all my fault."
"What? Why? What have you done?" He stood up.
"Something terrible. Something so, so terrible." I stood up after him and unlocked my phone. "I need to call my friends." I quickly opened the call log but hesitated. The demons can access my phone somehow even while in church. It was best to let the father do this. "Actually, no. Could you make the call to my friends? They need to get here."
"In this weather?"
"Yes, Father. Please." I pleaded.
"Very well."

Hey guys! Boyce and Voice actually do exist. Had them in my mind for a while after I discovered them while doing research about this book. But here they are. I think I have a slight idea of how it's going to go from now.
Oh yes, btw, guys. I'm not christian so I don't really know how this whole exorcism and stuff work much. I do know you need church board approval and all that, but if I have gotten anything about the church wrong, do let me know. My only knowledge comes from movies and books.
Also, Alyssa's quite worried. What do you guys think is up? I can hint you: It's nothing like what you're thinking. I believe I can hit you with a twist so good it'd be the mother of all twists. (Maybe, don't get your hopes too high up).
But yes, I think the church chapters are getting far too long. I know you guys, you want the gory action. And worry not, I promise, I SHALL deliver very soon. But till then, bear with me because this is all for the plot.
If you guys liked this chapter, do let me know in the comments or give me a generous little vote (something I never asked for actually, now that I think about it HAHA).
Hope you enjoyed thanks so much for reading this far. You're all a great bunch. Let's get this to the top 50! That's my newest goal!
