"You guys sure you want to do this?" I said quietly, a slight grin forming at my lips. "I mean, what if we summon satan himself or something?" I joked.

"Haha. We can't. It says demons only. Not the devil." Ronnie rolled her eyes.

"What if it's Asmodeus. Or like, a really hot demon?" Kat snickered while wiggling her eyebrows.

"You're all very funny. You do know this is all bull, right? It's not happening. No demon's actually going to show up." Jayce approached us with the last piece needed for the ritual. A piece of light hair – mine. He was the most skeptical one out of all of us.

We had to collect a few strange ingredients for this. We weren't being all too serious, though. Just some bored kids doing dumb stuff. We had a dead plant from Ronnie's ever-so-badly failing gardening attempts.

And finally, a white wax candle.

We first set out by drawing the pentagram on the floor of my garage. We joked and giggled while drawing it – Ronnie was a perfectionist and made us re-do the whole thing a couple of times.

Afterwards, we had to place the candle in the middle of the star we drew

Afterwards, we had to place the candle in the middle of the star we drew. Before we lit it, we had to drip a certain amount of blood onto the candle or around it. Ronnie was scared of the pain from cutting herself so she decided to sit out. Kat didn't think bleeding for a dumb ritual was necessary. Jayce was being overly skeptical as usual, agreeing with Kat, but I told them it was part of the ritual and pricked my finger with my little brooch before holding it over the candle carefully.

Then, we lit it. We were in the dark except for the candle light and Jayce handed me the piece of paper that had the incantations to speak for me to go through one last time. Ronnie brought the plant and set it alight from the candle fire, placing it neatly around the candle in a circle while it began to burn. We all held hands as I recall the incantations I had learnt the night before and seen just a few moments ago. I take a deep breath and exhale slowly.

"Dico vobis habitatio infernum," I began

"Dico vobis habitatio infernum," I began. "Excitate vos e terra, et occurrit nobis." We wait in silence. "Sed vade, et daemonium."

More silence.

According to the ritual, the plant is supposed to form a demon entity with its smoke and the demon would be able to communicate with us. But so far; nothing.

"This is bull." Jayce began to laugh as he broke the circle, went over and turned the lights back on. Ronnie shook her head disapprovingly and went over to find something to extinguish the burning plant with. Rolling my eyes at Jayce's impatience, I lean down and blow out the candle.

Early update tonight! #86 thanks so much guys!

Thank you all for reading! And thank you for your motivational messages! I honestly enjoy them so much. On a note, I am sorry that I can't reply to or thank each and every one of you. I'm a very busy gal ya know. I have so much stuff due just this week like my English examination and literature drama assignment – DUE ON MY BIRTHDAY (ugh). But yes, next week, I DO HOPE I CAN REPLY TO EVERYONE WHO COMMENTS because I feel bad for not replying. (P/S, 3rd update of this chapter for the night, I'm sleepy and I keep seeing mistakes while reading though – and being the idiot that I am, I keep updating only the part I see without checking the rest of the thing, sorry for blowing up your notifications and/or getting your hopes up, guys).

Here is the made up ritual. But worry not, even if it's made up, there's a lot more hidden stuff going on that you may have missed in it.

Thank you so much for reading I do hope you enjoy this because I have done a lot of research to make this chapter happen (the results of the research will show in later chapters though, since I made this ritual up, in relation to the researched data).

Hope you liked this and the images I tried so hard to find aha. I swear, half the time, most of my struggle is to find pictures or information. The content is thankfully ever so rich within me in the case of this book.

I MUST HAVE MENTIONED A SHOUTOUT DUE THIS CHAPTER BUT I'M SO EXHAUSTED I PROMISE THE SHOUTOUT WILL APPEAR NEXT CHAPTER it's 1.28 AM rn.

Toodlies
