I tucked my button-up shirt into my slacks and pulled the maroon vest on. I fixed my hair and slung my bag over my shoulder, leaving the room, not bothering to see if Fagan would follow.

I shoved my hands in my pockets as I started down the sidewalk, looking around at the scenery. Maybe I'd start going for walks after class. It'd get some energy out and keep me away from Beckett's crew.

                "Nice morning, isn't it?"

"It was, until you started talking to me," I grumbled.

Leon fell into step beside me. "Have they given you anymore problems?"

"Nope." I picked up my pace a little, but Leon matched it easily.

"I'm not here because I think you're part of their group," he said.

"No, you're here because you want me to tell you all their dirty secrets. I don't know anything and I already warned them I wouldn't keep my mouth shut if I did know something. They won't talk around me. Leave me alone," I said.

He raked a hand through his hair, looking like he wanted to sleep for the rest of his life. "I figured. It would make my life easier, so of course it's not going to happen."

                "Poor you," I said.

                "Poor me," he muttered.

"Why are you still walking with me?" I asked.

"Because we're both heading to the academic building," he said with shrug. "Besides, believe it or not, you're pleasant for a Maroon."

"Wow, what a compliment," I said dryly.

Leon sighed. "There is just no pleasing you."

"Leaving me alone pleases me," I said.

"I'm a fantastic friend to have," he said.

"I'm not looking for friends," I said. Not even a Blue. It wasn't worth the trouble. Especially not Leon, who was caught up with Beckett, Fagan, and Tessa.

"Oh, a loner." He sounded amused.

"Yes, I am an angsty loner, I listen to angsty music like a moody 14 year old, and I shop at Hot Topic. I tweet things like 'normal people scare me' and my Tumblr bio says 'welcome to my twisted mind'," I said.

"Really? How ironic. I shop at Hollister and run an aesthetic blog and tweet obscure quotes about nature," Leon said.

"The sad part is that I can't tell if you're joking or not," I said.

He grinned a little. "Guess you'll just have to get to know me to find out."

"I'm not that curious," I said, grateful as we reached the academic building. "Goodbye."

But, much to my despair, Leon kept following me. I shot him an annoyed look, but he simply shrugged.

"I had a job to do today," he said.
