Rain.

The silent drumming echoed throughout the alleyways, wetting every object and living creature.

It was after midnight, the civilians were asleep, while a certain brunette was tiredly walking home.

Mei's breathing had gotten heavier, due to her action-filled night. The criminals she was after were very quick, like ninjas. They were obviously skilled, but then again, so was she.

The brunette found herself standing in front of the doorway to her house, causing her to sigh in relief. She swiftly opened the door and un-tied her hair as soon as possible.

Her brown locks immediately landed on her shoulders as she collapsed on her futon. In merely a few seconds, Mei started feeling drowsy as her eyes felt heavy, making her fall asleep in minutes.

The sun is up, the sky is blue, the clouds are white, and the flowers bloomed beautifully too.
Mei squinted her eyes sleepily as she woke up to the morning sun, rubbing her brown orbs as she sat up straight.

"What...time is it?" She asks no one in particular, looking at the vase beside her futon which was filled with different types of flowers.

After moments of sitting in silence, Mei had energetically jumped up from her futon and stretched her arms, "What a beautiful day! Time to get up and head out to the Dojo!"

She smiled proudly as she fixed her futon and headed towards her wardrobe, going through every kimono she had in order to decide which one to wear on this wonderful day.

"I think...Turquoise! Ooh, it has some white designs too!" She twirled around and quickly changed into the material.

Mei let her thick brown hair rest on her shoulders as she pushed a few strands behind her ear. She took off her brown arm guards and replaced them with black ones as she swiftly slipped on her kimono.

After washing her face and continuing with her morning routine, Mei walked out of her apartment, feeling refreshed and ready to start her day.

The reason why she was so optimistic, was because she had no work today: Not at the Akabeko, nor the Police Department.

She could spend the whole day with Kenshin and the gang.

Mei greeted everyone who passed by her as she walked, her smile radiant as ever.

And soon, her legs stopped moving when she found herself at the gates of the Kamiya Dojo. Mei happily walked in with her hands behind her back as she spotted her four friends.

"Hello everyone!" She exclaimed optimistically, "Mei! It's greet to see ya!" Kaoru walked up to the brunette and gave her a hug. "Great to see you too, Kaoru! Hey Sano! Hey Yahiko!"

She waved at them, "Hey, missie." Sanosuke waved as he chewed on a strand of wheat, "Oh, hi Mei." Yahiko was arguing with Sanosuke about something, but cut himself off to greet the brunette.

The brunette grinned cheekily as she and Kaoru had randomly went off to a topic, and while they were talking she noticed Kenshin wasn't anywhere to be seen.
