By the end of my shift Aidon was hammered. I clocked out and said goodnight to Marcus. I wrapped my arm around Aidon and started walking. The feeling was familiar but at least this time he was so much more helpful and not bloody, which was a plus.
In Aidon's drunken state I decided it was a good idea to let him sleep in my bed. He fell haphazardly onto the bed and was out before he was even fully in the bed. I laughed a little and pulled the blankets up over his shoulders.
I grabbed the bat from the closet and put it next to the couch. Donny was in town and that was never a good sign. I took a quick shower and changed into my pajamas- a sports bra and a big t shirt and spandex. I plugged my phone in and sat on the couch sipping at a glass of wine.
I was exhausted. I finished my single glass of wine and fell asleep on the couch happy to just sleep.
I woke to scratching and curses- the sound of someone picking the lock. I was wide awake at the sound my mind already going a thousand miles an hour. I rolled off the couch picking up the bat as silently as I could manage. I moved to the doorway, hiding behind one of the pillars, waiting for whoever it was to finish picking the lock.
It opened with a satisfying click and the person stepped in. "Aidon," the voice whisper yelled. They stepped further into the room and I swung when I saw. Whoever it was they fell to the floor with a groan.
I shut my door again and quickly raced to my room. I pushed open the door and went to Aidon's side. "Aidon," i whispered, "Aidon." He groaned but didn't move. I shook him gently still calling his name.
"What Perry?" he groaned finally rolling over to face me. His eyes focused on me and he blushed slightly realizing what he had said. "What's going on Lenna?"
"Someone tried to break in," i whispered, "They called your name." He sat up quickly and winced heavily in pain. Blood pooled on his gauze and I had a strong feeling he tore his stitches. "I think you tore your stitches."
"Not important right now." He swung out of bed in a simple movement, moving gracefully. He stood and moved into the living room flipping the lights on as he went. He moved to person and rolled them onto their back.
"Fuck," Aidon breathed. I stepped forward leaning on the bat a bit. The guy was tall and strong I could see that where he laid. He was wearing armor similar to what Aidon was wearing the other night.
"Please inform the rest of the class." Aidon picked up the guy under his arms and brought him to the couch.
"Where are the zip ties?" Aidon asked quickly.
"Aidon what's going on?" His shoulders were tight, his jaw was set and his fists were clenched. Something was very wrong right now.
"Just answer me, quickly."
"Nightstand, top draw." He ran past me into my room and came back with four sets. He quickly zip tied he guy to the couch by both his wrists and backed away from him.
"Aidon," i breathed, "What is going on?"
"That- thats Skylar."
"Oh boy." Aidon nodded again with wide eyes. I put the bat down and moved to the kitchen. "I think it's time for a drink."
"I second that." I made us both a drink and we sipped at carefully watching Skylar. He was breathing and his head wasn't bleeding which was a very good sign.
"What is he doing here? How did he find you?" I asked picking up the first aid kit and sewing kit from the closet.
"He could find me anywhere if he tried hard enough," Aidon breathed staring at his brother. They had matching black hair now that I looked and similar face structure, though where Aidon was soft edges, Skylar was all angles.
I helped him out of his shirt tossing it to the floor. Now that I wasn't in a panic I could easily appreciate his body. His shoulders were wider than his hips, both strong and well muscled. He had a set of abs down his stomach and strong collar bones.
"Trust me no one can find me that easily," I said as I began to remove the gauze. I was right he had torn a few of his stitches. I grabbed the glass and brought it to his lips as I prepared the needle.
"Donny's work watching over you?"
I nodded. "Something like that. Stay still." He sipped his drink again as I started stitching him up. He set his jaw against the pain, wincing through his teeth. I stopped after two and let him breathe. I poured him another drink and took a sip of my own.
"Skylar has a way of finding people even if they are protected." He shook his head. "I should have left before he found me."
"You couldn't have left if you wanted to. Starting again." He took a sip of his drink and steadied himself. I finished off the last two as quickly as I could.
"Son-of-a-bitch," Aidon growled through his teeth shaking his head out.
"What? Can't handle a little pain baby brother?" a groggy voice asked. I spun and watched as Skylar sat up with a wicked smirk on his lips. His eyes were the color of the sky clear blue and deadly cold.
Aidon jumped off the stool but I quickly stepped in front of him pushing him back to the stool. "You," i growled looking back at Skylar, "Stop talking. You," i said looking at Aidon, "Sit and stay I'm not restitching you again." Aidon set his jaw but sat on the stool. I looked at Skylar and he just smirked keeping his lips shit.
I moved to my room and picked up the peroxide from my bathroom. I came back into the room and neither of them had moved. I cleaned up the wound again and taped the gauze back in place.
I grabbed my drink off the counter and gulped it, this was going to be a long night.
