Prologue/ Plot

This story is based off of a famous baseball anime. THE ANIME DOES NOT BELONG TO ME. If you haven't watched the anime yet, I recommend you to watch it! The title is DIAMOND NO ACE/ ACE OF DIAMOND. Also if you hear unfamiliar names that aren't in the anime, then they are my own characters that I inserted into the story.

I usually try to follow the original story line, but I get lazy...

Uematsu Kagami was an amazing pitcher in middle school. Her dad, Kataoka Tesshin, banned her from playing baseball that season because of an unexpected wrist injury. When she was fully healed in her last year of middle school, their team didn't make it to the finals.

She had made memorable friends there, but there was this one friend that she would never forget. Miyuki Kazuya. He himself, had taught Kagami to pitch. Thanks to him and the help of her father, Kagami is now an excellent baseball player.

For high school, Kagami attended Inashiro. She impressed the players and the coach with her amazing base running, fielding, batting, and especially pitching. So they made her their baseball team's assistant coach.

The only reason why Kagami attended Inashiro was because her father wanted one of her relatives to watch over her at school. Kagami's uncle worked as a teacher at the powerhouse school, but one day he was assigned to another school to teach in. Unfortunately, the school was farther away so Kagami wouldn't be able to come with him. Instead, she transfers to Seidou high school, the school where her father coaches the baseball team.

The energetic players discover that their coach is married and has children. Kataoka gives his daughter a spot on the First string team, making her the first and only female player on Seidou. The baseball players are taken aback by the coach's daughter and her breathtaking baseball skills.

There's this one specific player that catches Kagami's eye. The catcher that held the name, Miyuki Kazuya. Kataoka insists the two to catch up with each other by playing some catch.

Completely impressed by his friend's upgraded skills, Miyuki starts to recognize more things about Kagami... and possibly starts to feel things towards her and it's the same thing from Kagami's perspective.

When Miyuki catches Kagami's controlled pitches, it feels like a shock of adrenaline going through the catcher's body. From his protected hand, to his arm, down to his broad legs, through his chest, and finally reaching his pumping heart. The contact is like a burst of energy, a crucial reason to why he should continue to love baseball, to continue baseball with her.

The pair probably is the most deadly battery in the Tokyo prefecture. They both have complete trust in one another and it will never fade. Not even by the tiniest bit.

So why does every time when Miyuki looks at her, talks with her, and catches her pitches, he feels something deep inside that he hasn't felt before. The reason to that is because a catcher and a pitcher's relationship is the strongest bond in sports.

You still don't get it Miyuki? Neither does Kagami.

Why hasn't he felt this before? Was he just blind back then? How could've he not noticed all of these little things about Kagami that has always been there? That we don't know, not even Kazuya himself.
