Chapter - 7
Her Past-Life
Experience

As Miyuki walked beside Kagami, he noticed that she was awfully quiet. He wanted to grab just her attention and not his teammates that walked in front, beside, and behind them. He carefully nudged her side. Almost immediately, Kagami shot glares in his direction.

"What did he say?" The catcher whispered, leaning down a little so he matched Matsu's height.

She huffed. "What are you talking about Kazuya?" The pitcher unconsciously stuffed her hands in her pockets.

Miyuki gave the girl an annoyed look. "You know what I mean. You know who I'm referring 'he' to.. right?" He glanced at her side profile to see if he could get any hints from her.

"We just greeted each other, Kazuya. Nothing more, nothing less." She gave the boy beside her a reassuring smile. Yet, he didn't believe her.

'Are you kidding me Kagami?' He thought.

"For some reason, I don't believe you.." He stated, his glasses reflecting the rays of sun.

Matsu huffed, blowing strands of her hair along the way. "And for some reason, I assume that you're... jealous." She smirked. Matsu didn't want to talk about Narumiya right now. Kazuya's brown eyes widened.

"No! It's not like that." He looked at Matsu's team cap that he was holding. "I'm just worried." He put the blue baseball cap on Kagami's head and made sure that it was secure on there. "You've been awfully quiet ever since you greeted Mei..."

Suddenly, Kagami hooked her left arm into Kazuya's right arm. "Even if there was a problem, it's really none of your business.." She looked at the catcher. "If it's my problem, then I will solve it. Somehow..." she trailed off.

Kazuya knew it wouldn't be that easy. He knew that Kagami wasn't the one to admit a secret right away. She also is the one who tried to be independent at all costs.

"I know it isn't my business, but I can't help worrying about my best friend."

Kagami unhooked her arm from Kazuya's. "Please Kazuya. Don't make it harder for the both of us. I can handle... the problem. Just blame don't Mei."

Kagami sped up and left Miyuki behind. From Kazuya's perspective she went to walk with the first years instead. The catcher didn't say anything as Matsu separated from him.

"What was that all about?" Kuramochi asked from behind. The shortstop matched Miyuki's pace and begun to walk beside him as a substitute for Kagami.

The catcher released a sigh from his system and adjusted his thick framed glasses.

"Why do girls have to be so complicated?!"

"Kyahahhaha!" Kuramochi laughed. "I don't know, but you should keep on annoying Matsu. She'll tell you sooner or later if you're always going to be around her."

'I guess he's right..' Kazuya thought.

So about Kuramochi's advice...

Miyuki took the advice, but it made problems worse. Now, Matsu was giving him the silent treatment and was partly avoiding him too. This continued even through the game.
