Pitching Transitions

Kagami P.O.V.

*Knock knock knock..*

Huh?

I stared at the door until someone knocked on it again. It was early in the morning, so why come to my place? I pulled my blanket over my head, hoping that it would make the knocking go away. Unfortunately it didn't.

*Knock Knock Knock*

Yeah, I think ignoring the knocking would only make it worse. I groaned as I sat up in bed and pulled the sheets off of my body. I maneuvered my feet into my slippers and walked up to the door. I didn't bother to turn on the lights or brush my hair.

When I opened the door I was met with a mob of my teammates. Kuramochi, Masuko, Isashiki, Tetsu, Shirasu, even Kawakami just barged right in my room without permission. But none of the first years were there. When they all were inside my room, Miyuki was visible. I hadn't even noticed his presence there.

"Why are you guys here?" I asked him. My voice was quiet and groggy as I struggled to open my eyes.

"They wanted to visit you and cheer you up because they noticed how tired and down you seemed yesterday.." He told me.

Third Person P.O.V.

"Eh? You're done already, Matsu? That's probably the fastest you've ate!"

"I know right, I'm pretty proud of myself.." The girl chimed as she walked up to the counter with her tray. "Thank you for the meal!"

After that, she started to head towards the exit but was stopped by a first year.

"Matsu-Senpai.."

The said girl whipped her head towards the voice.

"Huh? What is it Furuya?"

"Can you come with me to the bullpen and review my pitches?" The pitcher asked. They had done this for quite a while now, Kagami would watch Furuya pitch in the bullpen and point out what she saw about his pitching. It took Matsu a second before she answered.

"Sorry Furuya, but I'm really worn out today. I'm planning to hit the z's right when I get to my dorm. Maybe, tomorrow, 'kay?" Matsu clarified as she rubbed the nape of her neck, slightly embarrassed about turning down his offer. Furuya just nodded in response and Kagami tiredly made her way out of the mess hall.

"That was odd, huh?" Kuramochi said right when the door closed. The others in the room nodded, agreeing that it was odd. They all knew by now that Matsu wasn't the one to turn down offers. Especially if it had to do with pitching.

"How 'bout we give her an early morning surprise tomorrow?" Jun suggested. "That'll cheer her up.."

Kagami P.O.V.

I ran my left hand through my bed hair as I nodded. As I offered Kazuya to come inside I noticed that the others had already settled in. Kuramochi had already set up his gaming console on my tv and had begun to play. I honestly was weirded out. I mean, who plays video games at 4:30 in the morning?
