Sam
I wake up in the same chair. Lisa wasn't in the room. My back still hurt like hell, but it wasn't as bad. I slowly started to sit up. It took me a minute because every time I moved was terribly painful. I finally stood up after like 5 minutes. I saw a mirror in the other side of the room. I slowly walked up to it.
My eyes were still red and there was a little bit of dry blood in my hair. My hair was starting to get pretty long. I could probably go for a cut, which is weird coming from me.
I slowly turned around and lifted up the back of my shirt. There were five lines going across my back with at least 12 stitches each. I look like a stupid raggedy Anne doll. I couldn't look anymore, so I quickly turned my head back around. How could I be so weak? I was supposed to be strong, for Dean.
The same Dean that practically raised me and fed me. The same Dean that taught me to protect myself. The same Dean that left me.
Suddenly, the door opened. Lisa walked in with a clip board in her hand and a pen in the other. She seemed to be so focused on what was written on the paper, she didn't even notice I was up. I saw the door was left open, and I could have tried to run, but I couldn't bring myself to. I could barely even stand.
"Sam!" Lisa exclaimed when she realized I was up. "You should NOT be standing right now." She said as she rushed me over back to the bed.
"Wait, Lisa." I said As i laid back down. I hissed at the stinging pain in my back. "What did you mean yesterday, or for however long I slept for, when you said we should have known this would happen to me?" She furrowed her eyebrows.
"I don't recall saying that." She said. "It must be the pain medication messing with your head." I shook my head.
"No, no. I may have been on the verge of passing out, but I remember you specifically saying that." I said, though after saying it, I wasn't so sure. Am I imaging things?
"You should sleep here for a few more nights, but you are free to walk around. Just be careful with your back, and take 2 of these every 12 hours." She said as she handed me a bottle of pills. I looked at her suspiciously. Then I looked down at the bottle. There was a note. It read: I will explain everything tonight. I knew I wasn't imagining things! Then she gave me a quick wink and left the room.
I quickly opened up the bottle and swallowed 2 pills dry. Anything to get rid of the pain in my back. Now it was just me, alone with nothing but my thoughts. How do I know I can trust her? Well, I guess I didn't even really have a choice. She is the only adult here that has been nice to me. Plus I can't leave this room.
3 hours later
Wow, those pain killers worked really good. The pain in my back is almost gone. I stood up and went up to the door. I expected it to be locked, but to my surprise, it opened. I walked outside.
At first I just stood there. Is this it? Am I really going to be stuck here for the rest of my life? I looked side to side. There were some groups of kids talking. I didn't have any friends to talk to anymore. Just thinking about it my my face heat up in anger.
"Hey! You there!" I turned my head to where the call came from. There was a girl with straight brown hair. She had lots of freckles all over her face. She was looking right me.
"Me?" I yelled back.
"Yes you!" She said, laughing. "Come here!" I didn't know if I should. You never know who you can trust in this place. But, I decided I would go over there anyways.
