"The only ones who will remain on the court are the strong."
*Mild language
"Welcome, it's nice to have you here." The homeroom teacher said as the door slid open, revealing the new transfer student.
"My name is (l/n) (f/n), I come from Aoba Johsai. It's a pleasure to meet you." Bowing, you pulled your (h/c) back and walked to your seat.
"You may seat yourself behind Yamaguchi-kun." Your teacher said, so you moved up the aisle of the desks, legs shaking with slight nervousness.
"A-Ah, it's nice to meet you! I'm Yamaguchi Tadashi." The young man stood up, bowing to the young girl.
"It's a pleasure to meet you a well, Yamaguchi-kun." Sitting down, you opened your bag and grabbed your favorite pencil case and notebook.
Looking over, you caught eye contact with a blonde with glasses. Feeling uncomfortable from his stare, you looked away.
Then the bell rang. Who knew you would have made an enemy by the end of the day.
-
During English, you couldn't concentrate, tapping your foot constantly. Glasses, what you deemed the blonde with black frames, was still analyzing. Studying your every move. You couldn't figure out why, you had moved to be with your parents in a quieter part of Japan. Your brother Akio was in college.
Then suddenly, you heard a whisper come from his mouth.
"I've seen you before, at Aoba Johsai."
"You're his sister..."
"Tsukishima-kun, please refrain from whispering in class. Pay attention." The english teacher turned back to the board, leaving you completely flustered.
Your chest felt tight, like you couldn't handle it anymore. When the bell rang, you sprinted out.
"W-Where did (l/n)-san go, Tsukki?" Yamaguchi said as he approached the blonde.
However, Tsukishima shrugged it off.
-
"Just when I thought...everyone would forget about that." Aimi whispered, huddled by the steps towards the courtyard.
Two years ago, before Akio had even thought of college, both siblings attended Aoba Johsai. There Akio religiously played volleyball and was a great addition to the team. During a match however, something went terribly wrong. Before rushing to the hospital, Akio admitted to his sister and teammates that he thought nothing of a minor knee injury.
After immediate surgery, doctors decided returning to volleyball was impossible. Even though Akio ended up healing, his sister never did.
As a third year, Akio sat on the sidelines for the rest of his school year.
"Excuse me."
You looked up to see a tall boy, with cropped short black hair. His eyes were blue.
"O-Oh, I'm so sorry. " Standing up, you fumbled for your school bag.
"Let me. It's Kageyama Tobio." With ease Kageyama picked up the bag and handed it to you, immediately blushing.
"U-Um, thank you Kageyama-kun." You smiled and headed up the steps, but heard something fall to the ground. So, you hurried back down the steps to find his notebook.
But he was gone.
-
Walking past the gymnasium, you heard the smacks of volleyballs. He had to be there, you had checked all the other clubs! Peeking in, you spotted a certain black haired boy. However, the sounds reminded you of Akio...and what Tsukishima Kei said.
