"Shut up Yamaguchi."
*Mild language.
The Rulers of the Court. Dangerous, skilled and determined. Rising to the top, the duo seemed to beat any team in front of them.
Born-to-be stars.
That's what they called the two identical twins, (f/n) and Akio. But when they decided to go to Karasuno High, the duo had to split. Maybe for good.
-
"You're so beautiful!"
"Gorgeous!"
"So talented!"
"I heard she doesn't work with her teammates."
"Such a brat."
"She's got an ugly personality."
"Rude!"
Opening up her shoe locker, tons of notes came out. Picking up a random note, you read it.
"Die, bitch."
-
"(l/n) are you okay riding by yourself on the way to Tokyo?" Coach Amari said, looking at the thinning girl.
"Just fine. They all hate me." With that, you put your earbuds in and relaxed back against the seat. Third years looked at you in disgust.
Being hated wasn't so bad, at least that's what you thought. Notes flooded into your shoe locker on a daily basis, writings on your homeroom desk and threats in the locker room. Not too shabby from your haters.
-
A hand came down across your face, making you slam into the bench.
"Sit on the bench, bitch. You see what I'm saying? Your brother isn't here to protect you. I'll make sure you'll be on this bench until you graduate."
Another note, another bruise.
But some of the boys were watching, even Akio and Tsukishima Kei. Apparently a few of the girls didn't think the boys would be done changing.
You picked yourself up. The same ritual. Then, you grabbed your bag.
"I will not sit on that bench, whore. We all know the only reason why you play volleyball." You spit at the girl before hustling into the locker room to change.
"You won't help your sister?" Tsukishima said, the first thing he's ever said to Akio.
All the first-year did was stand there.
-
"This is my sister, (l/n) (f/n). W-well...as you can see..." Akio mumbled, as the rest of the boys stood by as you spiked a volleyball over the net.
"Wowwwww! Look at that Kageyama!" Hinata shouted, pointing at you. Turning your head, you glared at Hinata.
Stepping back, Hinata looked at the girl.
"Pointing isn't very nice, you short carrot." Slamming the ball to your palm again, you smiled.
Some of the boys chuckled, Hinata stood offended by the comment. Akio rubbed his face and sighed, "She only smiles when she plays volleyball."
A certain blonde was watching, however, and found your comment towards Hinata amusing.
"Ne ne, Akio why aren't you playing? Geez, slacker." You smiled at your brother, (e/c) eyes shining.
Akio gulped, looking back at his sister. "Well...(y/n) I've got to practice. You're on the girl's team, you can't play with just me anymore."
"Who said I can't play with just you? I have a choice, I know how you work and we work together good." You turned to look at him again.
"You have to learn to work with others too (y/n), not just your brother anymore."
Setting the ball in Hinata's hands, you frowned at Akio's words. He had noticed the threats and everything else, but had the nerve to tell you to cooperate with the girls who were ultimately ruining your life.
"I'm leaving. Walk home by yourself, I'm going to see if Yuki is busy or not." You pulled down your (h/c) locks, picking up your gym bag. Giving one last glance, you caught Tsukishima Kei's typical glare.
Then you walked out, not bothering about it being the middle of winter. You couldn't care less, your own brother turned against you.
"Tsk, too much drama for me." Tsukishima rolled his eyes, grabbing his bag. His heart was confusing him, making him do the actions he'd never dream of doing. Including make him think about catching up with (y/n).
Turning on his heel, the blonde looked back to the boys. "I'm going after the idiot."
-
"...sorry about that Yuki." You stood by the gym building, listening to the girl on the other end of the line. Ultimately, she couldn't meet up with you tonight, something about family matters. You weren't really listening to her anyways.
"No! It's completely fine. See you." Hanging up, you felt tears well up in your eyes. You had no one. At least that's what you thought.
Footsteps got louder, crunching in the snow. All Tsukishima has ever done is observe, but now he's finally saying something to a girl he's come to like. Something he wouldn't thought he'd be doing.
"You know, girls like you shouldn't cry off all that make up over their brother."
Wiping your eyes, you looked at Tsukishima. "I don't wear any, lamp post. For your information, I have a hard time working with people."
A chuckle came out of the blonde's mouth as he slid a beanie on your head, trying to be caring. "So do I, except I have a harder time working with you."
Rolling your eyes, you smiled at Tsukishima. "I only smile while playing volleyball...and when you seem to care about me."
"Is that a confession I sense?" Tsukishima leaned in and smirked.
"Who cares, dinosaur. Let's go home." You mumbled, officially done with the conversation. The street lamps turned on, illuminating the surroundings of the two teens.
Snowflakes started to appear, slowly falling down onto the sidewalks and pavement of the road. It was late winter, after all.
You both started to walk, but Tsukishima held his hand out. You slowly slipped your hand into his, looking at him. A blush spread across his pale cheeks. Feeling your heart start to beat faster, you smiled at him.
"I like you too, Kei."
-
"Look at her...with him."
"Who's that?"
"It's Kei Tsukishima...class 1-4."
"Isn't he in the boy's volleyball club?"
"They look happy."
