It's too cold
With my only warmth under this flimsy blanket
And I can't go to the sun
I'm scared of its light
I'll just bundle up instead
Let the blanket cover me
From toes to head
It's still so cold
But in this darkness
Is the closest I'll get to warmth
Without the sun
It's the closest I'll get to an embrace
As the blankets cover me
Without the sunlight kissing my face
It's the closest I'll get to being safe
As I hide away
Without the sun driving terrors away
So I'll add more blankets to this place
And under my barrier of blankets will I lay
For in this darkness
Under these blankets
It's easy to pretend everything's okay
